    Default New From Nor Cal

Hey everyone...New here from the Bay Area. I have a 2011 STI sedan on order. I am in outside sales so I drive alot and I am seeing more and more local LEO's on surface streets and CHP on the local highways with Lidar speedtraps. sometimes 2 to 3 a day!!

I have a V1 that I have had for years but I am considering also buying a laser jammer for the new STI.

Looks like its a fix-it ticket if you only have two laser jammer's on your car...

Let me know your thoughts and if there are any recomended installers in the South Bay.

    Thanks
    Scott

Yep CHP's are "good times" concerning speed enforcement. In my travels thru Cali I've noticed CHP's using KA RADAR & LIDAR use. There is a load of info on our site concerning RADAR & LIDAR.

Had a CHP doing Ka this morning on 80 - He was in a pickup truck which I don't see often.

Agree, you don't see too many SUV / PU trucks over in that direction.

California Vehicle Code Section 28150 pertains to Radar/Laser Jammers. 3 or less devices is an infraction; 4 or more is a misdemeanor. If you look at the current years California Bail Schedule, you should find that 28150 is a non-moving violation (no points can go on your record) and it is a violation eligible for correction in some counties for sure (maybe all).. Basically, you should get a fine ranging from $100-250. I believe bail schedules can vary by county, but are very uniform in rules, fees, and penalties.

Here is the schedule for Los Angeles County, see page 52 of the PDF.
    http://www.lasuperiorcourt.org/bail/pdf/misd.pdf

Also, notice how it only mentions radar jamming devices, and not laser.
CVC 28150 does mention laser, the bail schedule does not.
