    Default Howdy from Houston

I was referred to this site by a member and good friend of mine, Frye. I currently drive an 06' 550i but plan to trade up to a M5 soon. The only defense I have in my car as of now is a V1. What I'd like to gain from this forum is a better understanding of how my V1 works and which mode is best for me. I live in one of the most urban neighborhoods of Houston and receive a lot of varying interference from surrounding retail stores and businesses. I'd also like to learn what other options for defense are available and best for me. I look forward to gaining a wealth of knowledge from this forum and will contribute whenever appropriate or possible.

    Have a great day!

Welcome to the forum from dallas.

I use A mode with my v1, and I never use the filtering mode because I know where the falses are on my commute. Some of the other members will be more helpful in that area than me.

Other countermeasures you should consider are jammers. If lasers a threat in Houston (I'm pretty sure it is), you'll need jammers to save you from laser.

You should probably wait till you get your M5 to install jammers. The V1's an awesome detector as far as radar's concerned!

welcome to the forum. You will definately get all of the knoweldge that your looking for here. The V1 is a great detector, but if you are finding the false alerts to be annoying then you may want to consider getting a 9500ix. Also I would suggest just like weeth did, taking a look at some laser jammers, they are really going to help you out as well.

Thanks! I definitely want to get quad laser jammers, and as you suggested, I'm waiting until I get an M5

I live downtown, near Highland Village/Rice Village. What about yourself?
