Just watch out on the cross island southbound. They use K band right after the Union turnpike exit. Nasty curve and I/O there.

Adaptive Cruise Control and Laser issue
Hi all - I posted this on the CSRT8 specific thread, but have not had any replies, so thought I would post it here also, to see if anyone can come up with suggestions.

I've discovered that the adaptive cruise control laser signal, is causing issues with my laser shifter (jammer).

It seems that the ACC in my '09 model SRT8 sends out a constant "test" laser signal every 60 seconds or so, regardless of whether or not I'm using cruise control. When doing so, it interferes with both my Belltronics radar detector (when set to detect laser signals) as well as the laser shifter system I have (pro-park). This had both the installer of the system and me baffled for quite some time, to the point the installer even put in a whole new module thinking the first one was faulty. This was the first time they had installed the pro-park laser system on a car with ACC, so a learning curve for them and me.

My question: is there any way of disabling the ACC laser without loosing the cruise control feature of the car?

While I love this feature (the ACC) I love my driver's license more and recently lost 50% of my demerit points by getting caught doing 28 km/h above the legal limit of 110 km/h on a weekend blitz the cops had that was a "double demerit" period (long weekend). The cop who nabbed me with the laser gun was very easy to talk with and sympathetic, saying he recently came back from holidays in the US and was the only car doing the limit on the interstate and everyone was overtaking him by at least 20 mph, cops, private citizens etc - our laws here are crazy and you get pinged now for even 6 km/h over the limit (4 mph) with hefty fines and loss of points on your license. All a money making exercise for our greedy government!
