F-150 in MO

Howdy all,

Just had my first experience with a LEO and LIDAR yesterday and that was more than enough for my tastes. My desire is to make my barge of a truck impervious (or as close to it as possible) to these LIDAR guns, and detect and traditional radars as far away as possible.

I'm driving a '01 F-150 SuperCrew with grill lights and fogs w/a chrome bumper so I know that's a few strikes against me as far as LIDAR is concerned. I'd appreciate any help in sifting through what's legit and what's bunk with all the laser jamming and radar detecting tech out there.

There are a number of good countermeasures.

The STi R Plus is at the head of the class in remote units. It has excellent sensitivity and the band segmentation make it very responsive and able to pick up IO/QT. GPS gives you a quiet ride. The only drawback to the unit is price and the fact that you will want to install it.

V1 and Redline are two top performing window units. The Redline has great sensitivity but is not as responsive. The V1 has very good sensitivity and great responsiveness, plus you get arrows and a bogy counter. Both of these units are at their best on the highway.

The 9500ix has good sensitivity but is not responsive. GPS gives you a better/more quiet ride around the city. My preference would be the V1 or Redline.

Laser Interceptors are the way to go with laser jamming. No questions asked. You may want the HP unit due to the size of your truck.

Even though you drive a big vehicle, you can still have reliable protection against police lidar if you go with the right laser jammer and do a good install. I recommend going with a regular LI Dual and putting the jammer heads in the following locations:

@snoopyc4- IYO, do you think the regular powered LI Dual is enough protection? As opposed to the Quad with 3 or all in front, or the Dual HP as Vette mentioned?

@ONO50H- probably, but it'll be worth it with as bad as the LEOs are around here when all the kids are gone over breaks (Collegetown, USA).

For front protection only, yes. I run a regular LI Dual on the front of my truck and have had great results both in testing and in the real world.

Is your testing in conjunction with the VEIL product I'm assuming? With 6 forward facing lights on my truck I'm thinking that VEIL might not be a bad investment either...

I do have Veil on my headlights but I am confident that I could still get great results without it. I've also tested other trucks that only had a LI Dual on the front (no veil) such as a silver Dodge ram 1500 and a lifted white Dodge Cummins diesel. Both setups did extremely well.
