    Cool hello from Texas

I just bought my second V1, to replace one that was stolen years ago (along with my vehicle).

I ended up with a better car, but missed having the V1. I was too sore over the loss to drop another $450, so I made do without. It probably would have saved me the one speeding ticket I had in between that time and now.

So anyway, here I am at number two. It was hard-wired this weekend and I've been putting it through the paces to see what makes noise in my area. It's like opening a window in a previously darkened room. I never knew there were so many automatic doors around here! I haven't seen many police encounters yet and I'm still experimenting with a pretty unusual mounting position. The remote display is also in a clever spot (I think).

I've done a little reading on the new super radar detectors, like the STI-R+ with it's fancy GPS and false alert learning ability, but I just gotta have my locator and multiple bogey counter, ya know? The only feature I wish V1 had is the frequency display. Things like voice prompts I can do without (annoying).

So, if anyone wants to go lookin' for speed traps this weekend, let me know!

Welcome from DFW! I never seem to have encounters right after a new detector.

Some like to combine detectors like the v1 and sti-r. I use a redline/sti-r combo because there's no interference between the two.

The v1 will serve you well!
