Hello from PA!

Hi, I'm new here so I probably should introduce myself. I'm a college student from PA, currently I run a Bel V955 hardwired with a blendmount. Although I am looking to upgrade in the near future to either a redline or V1.


Also, I remember reading somewhere that PA state police can only use radar, is this true?

Welcome! Go to the Local area information section, under the first thread radar in town and cities I think. The list of states where PA is. K and Ka radar non moving, also ENRAD what ever that is?Check it out....

Careful on the turnpike, they use aerial VASCAR. Enrad by local LEOs. Only Staties can use radar K and Ka.

Someone had added that they spotted a Ka. The thread shows that there alot of K band hand gun units, sittings Leos which means Instant-on (I/O). Newer units sold may lean toward Ka.....

I live and have commuted in PA for 34 years. I run X and laser off. PA retired their x band sometime ago and laser is not approved for use. Enradd is two sticks on usually white poles on the side of the road and are linked to the cruiser via an infrared signal, so the car can hide really well out of sight. It is usually run by locals. It is pretty easily spotted if you are looking for it, quite deadly if you aren't (costs me 158 bucks) Use Waze on your Smart phone and you should do alright. And by the way welcome!

After finding some un-biased reviews and profrmance tests. I decided on the V1. Ordered it yesterday!

One thing I found is that a lot of radar reviews are biased. I guess a company/person is only going to recommend a radar that they can make money from.
