Hello from LI NY!

Hi All,

I'm a total noob to ECM, well over 30+ years ago I had a Whistler but that's ancient history.

I do tend to have a heavy foot, my basic theory on driving is get away from the other jerks on the road so they can't hit me, and this has been pretty effective for me.

I hadn't gotten a ticket in decades, I carry some tin, I'm a retired NYC EMS EMT-P and my old shield and ID have served me very well up and until the day after Sandy (I'm still out of my house and will be until most likely May). A douch bag NYS Trooper gave me a ticket for "Disobey a Traffic Control Device" which was a totally bogus violation (going to fight is and probably win because I really am innocent). This rude awakening to the lack of "Professional Courtesy" shared by the current generation of LEO has been a real wake up call, it's time for me to get a good detector and jamming system.

Sandy took my beloved Scion Xb and I just got a new Subaru Forester which I plan to own for a long time so I plan to invest in some state of the art ECM's. I have been reading here for a few weeks and am almost knowledgeable enough to ask some not too stupid questions.

Sorry to hear this all but I'm glad you came through alright and you have a new car.

and don't worry about your Scion. If it was salt water logged it's living it's second life in another state with more liberal registration policies for flood damaged cars.
