Hello, there.

Last car was a 2007 Audi S8 with system that cannot be mentioned ( everyone seems to hate them, but mine did the trick, except when the damn AAA batteries die in the remote and the system turned itself off) <<----only ticket I ever got with the above mentioned system.

I am now lucky enough to have a 2013 S8 and I have a question with regards to shopping for a new Radar detector.

I understand the Audi windshields have Titanium Oxide in them. this is why the toll tags will not work through the window and we have to use the ones that screw onto the license plate.

The dealer told me that the remote detectors will not work because of the adaptive cruise control and the visor mounted wont work d/t the windshields.


Does anyone have any first hand experience on a late model A8 or S8 with either the Bell STIr for a remote option or the 9500ix

Primarily city driving in the Houston area, with the occasional road trips on the I-10 and I-45 etc
