The "Intro" Thread shouldn't be used for "detailed" info requests regarding RD choice selection.However,the "KING" of windshield mount Radar Detectors is the model you've already named (Redline).An excellent choice on your part !

NOT all "on-line" sellers are Escort Factory "authorized" to sell Escort products.If you buy from some seller who isn't...Escort WILL NOT honor the Warranty if there is a problem w/ a new RD & it needs to be returned for service to them.
There are plenty of very good threads here loaded w/ info on Escort RDs & especially the RL you're interested in...spend some time doing a little reading here before buying anything.
