PEI with an STI Magnum

hey, new to this forum.... bought a new STI magnum from beltronics because it is suppose to be "undetectable"

But here is the situation and it happened twice

I was stopped to turn left at a busy intersection and was alerted of KA band I seen an approaching RCMP car he suddenly turns right and stops a few hundred feet up the street I am turning onto, I pulled the power cord and drove past him and he looked confused, as if he was sure I had "something detectable". this scenario happened twice, once in PEI, and just yesterday in NB. both times it was an RCMP car.

Bottom line I don't believe the STI magnum is "undetectable" to the RCMP. and since I just spent $500 on this detector I dont really want to "test" my theory.

I previously owned a bel Vector 985 and it served me well for almost 12 years.

All RD's leak a little RF energy.The RCMP use RDD's (Radar Detector "Detectors") that CAN pick up(sniff) the low level of emissions from a RD like the Magnum when at very close range!
You were wise to pull the power plug immediately & saved your RD from confiscation.

The above claims are completely false in my own personal opinion the Beltronics Sti magnum has been tested and put right beside a Radar Detector Detector like the spectre and no alert was detected. The Police Officer might of seen your radar detector visually or as you say he might of seen the power cord hanging down i would hard wired it. also your behavior might of set him off if you slam on your breaks and your break lights light up or if you start reaching around on your dash.
