Default LI Mount-Can 1 Sensor be used up front and one for the rear?

Well, I finally overcame my fears of all the cloak and dagger stuff and purchased (donated the money for research) a LI Dual Head. I currently have a single head AL G8 and was wondering if I can mount one of the LI heads for front protection and the other for rear protection or are they both required for complete coverage up front?? I have a small Silver Mercedes C-55 but she does have those big shiny headlights! I have been shot hundreds of times with laser but never from the rear to date. I drive a very well know Radar and Laser infested corridor of Central and Northern Florida through four EXTREMELY well known speed traps, Starke, Hampton, Lawtey and Waldo up US 301. While I am here, anyone else who travels at night ever notice that you can see the red laser from the LEOs at night from hundreds of yards away? Pretty cool huh? The one LEO in Hampton sits down a blind driveway just off US301 and I see the laser beam just before all hell breaks loose inside my cockpit!

No they are both not required up front... they can work independently of each other

Cool! Any other LI Dual users have them set up one front one rear? Is the performance still satisfactory?

Just buy a 4head unit if you want guarenteed JTG front and rear. I think 1 head will be enough but every install is different and you wont know how effective your install is until you test it.

I have a clk500 (front very similar to c55) and am running a quad head setup. Those pretty fogs and those huge headlights are pretty hard to protect. I went with the quad so i would have piece of mind.

Thanks. I'll put them both up front. As I said before, never been hit from behind. I'll relocate the AL G8 for rear protection in the unlikely event I do eventually get hit from there.

I have the dual heads both mounted in the front of my S60R which appears to have a very good profile for laser (good in the sense of not being a good laser target) and I am going to install another set of heads in the rear soon. Maybe it is overkill but I will feel better about it.

Thanks Carlos. I seem to remember reading that when you add two additional sensors to a Dual Head LI, there may be a software issue that affects the parking sensor as well as other operational aspects of the LI System. While I also read that the LI still functions with regard to doing it's job, I would want to get the proper software loaded into the Firmware to make her operate as a proper 4 sensor LI. JMTCW. Check around or ask LI directly.
