Default Strange LI false near Port of Miami

I've received an unknown gun false a few times when driving across the MacArthur Causeway from downtown Miami to South Beach. It happens right about at the same spot (on this map, between the westernmost Hwy 41 marker and the little "A" pinpoint) where there are occasionally LEOs or constant K-band speed display doodads, but every time I've received this strange false, I'm positive there is no LEO using laser nearby, nor have there been any Infinitis, nor does my V1 (mounted high) pick it up.

It's right next to the Port of Miami (labeled Dodge Island in the above linked map) so I have to guess that it's possibly something to do with the port that sets it off. It doesn't happen every time though.

Any other Miami LI users experience this? Any ideas what could be causing it?

This is most likely a IR Camera or some other IR source such as Section Control. Next time, if you can do so safely, get out and see if you discover the possible source.

Thanks, Cliff! Would have sent this as a PM but figured it might be interesting for others to read about.

I don't know a damn thing about shipping, ports, boats, cruise ships, cargo ships, or any of that sort of thing, but I don't think that whatever the source is has anything to do with automobile traffic. The level of enforcement at that spot consists of a few toothless signs, the stationary K-band speed displays and an occasional empty police car parked on the side of the road.

During one of the falses, I thought I had it all figured out--there was a small police boat out in the water when I got the signal and I assumed that perhaps they were zapping cars with a laser and relaying the info to chase cars around the bend. However, there was no sign of any chase cars or any LEO presence in the area.

What should I look for if I have the time to poke around for the source?

It should be very noticeable.... a camera or a camera like device mounted to look for movement either on the roadway or perhaps aimed at the waterway. When you see it, you will know what it is! Similar devices are used on The Florida Turnpikes Toll Roads and Toll Booths.
