Thumbs up Just to Pile On...The LI REALLY WORKS!

As if everyone doesn't know this already the LI rocks...but I guess when you get a save you want to yell it from the mountain tops! (either that or just validate that the expensive purchase is worth it!)

My first confirmed save was a fun one! I was driving up 400 North in Atlanta, there was an annoying Rowell LEO parked not to far behind a broken down vehicle right before an overpass. Pretty sneaky this one...

It was at lunch time and the traffic starts to thicken up...he was at the top of the hill and I was gently working my way through traffic doing 84 (1mph below the new super speeder law). All of the vehicles on the road made it difficult to spot him until almost the last minute. As I was making a lane change, a gap opened in the traffic and boom...there he was! I hit the brakes, quickly scrubbed my speed to almost the PSL and whammo...the LI and the 9500ix started screaming! he hit me at almost a 45deg angle at less than 300'. I could see him pull the gun away from his face to take a better look at the screen, he then pointed and moved it down between his legs and appeared to kind of tap it as if he was saying "WTF" to himself! I quickly passed right by him and that was that! There was no need to kill the LI since he really only took 1 shot at me and I didn't have enough time to respond!

It was a great feeling to basically give the LEO my middle finger!!

Even though I know the device works, it's still a game of cat and mouse and my nerves are still on end albeit a lot less now that I have installed the LI!!

Cool save... too bad you don't have video of it.

What kind of gun was he using?

It sure feels good to beat the tax-man sometimes.
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

You're right (as usual) Cat4...it was a PL3! Plus it's one of the only LIDAR guns that set off the 9500ix!

I wish I could do the video rig...but since my wife and I usually car pool together, she wouldn't be too happy with a camera set up in the car. I need to find something a little less obvious.

Very nice save indeed, I have seen LEO a couple times right between Windward pky exit and Old milton pky exit on 400. On both occasions my RedLine screamed. I have no LJ yet, I will get one soon, I hope.

I am saving for when Super Santa comes this summer so I too, can have a LI

Great save though. I love it when they question the results and look at the LG instead of through it

Personally seeing how wild that law is, I would give it a 2MPH buffer...

I only say that because if I remember correctly police radar units (yes I know this is a laser thread... but you could be hit with radar) are only calibrated to +1/-1MPH (not sure about laser guns), and the same goes for most car speedo's they are something like +1/-1MPH as well... so just because you 'are' at 84, doesn't mean that is what will show up on a police radar gun...

    Just me though.

If he really shot you at 45 Degrees you have nothing to worry about. He would have only gotten your speed at 50% of your relative real speed.
