    Default LI HP vs non-HP

Does anyone use the HP flavor of LI's? Just wondering if this would be big-time overkill on a Honda Civic.

It's not overkill on a Vette, so probably not. Depends on how good your mounting options are.

Overkill on your car. I tested a member with a Black 2008 Civic with a 7-series LI-Dual and it was JTG against the Ultralyte and TruSpeed aiming at everything I could shoot with JTG results.

In this game there is no such thing as overkill.
Valentine One (3.858 Ice Cream Truck, 3.812 in Vette)
4 Head LI (On Vette) (7.11 CPU Regular heads front, HP Heads on the rear)
    9500ci (On Vette)

LI Quad (On Ice Cream Truck)

LI Dual (On SRX, 7.06 CPU)

ProLaser II, ProLaser III, Stalker LZ-1, LTI Marksman & Laser Atlanta "R" (looking for an Ultralyte LRB)

    2008 Corvette Z-51 Coupe

    Escort 9500 ix (Cadillac SRX)

Well that comment is absolutely true and I can't argue. I personally feel the money spent on the LI-HP dual can be substituted for the regular LI quad in his case. For about the same price, your get front/rear protection. His car is not that hard to install or protect as it got really nice mounting positions.
My opinion is also bias as I never shot a car with the HP series before. All PROPERLY mounted LI regular heads I ever tested was JTG against all guns I used. Than again, Rsatman never shot my car for those sick 1,000ft PT.

    I think its overkill.

Assuming space isn't an issue, and for the same price-point, wouldn't it be better to mount 4 non-HP heads to 2 HP heads?

I'm leaning towards LI Quad since the heads are smaller and the placement will be tricky as it has to go into some lattice grillwork and there's nothing really horizontal about it. I need to carefully plan out the install before I buy anything as I don't want to butcher my new car.

I'd say absolutely LI Quad for the FRONT if you want to be worry free.

The best way to run, imo, is with 2 LI Quad systems -- one for the front, and one for the rear. This is, of course, assuming money is no issues.

Detecting the laser hit is half the battle. Adding 2 more heads to the system on the front fully assures you will detect the hit, especially on a small vehicle

I guess the only "sure" way to find out is through testing.

If I had a pair of HP and non-HP, I would use HP for the rear, and non-HP for the front.

I've 2 non-HP LIs on the front of my vehicle ('02 Corolla) and it works well (at least against a TruSpeed). I don't think the '10 Civic is that much different in terms of frontal cross-sectional area.

I have the v8 LI dual setup on my white 09 jetta with huge reflective headlights and once they were properly aligned I have gotten JTG on UL, Stalker, PL3 and TrueSpeed.

My car is about the same size as yours and it’s white, so it really comes down to how much you want to spend.

You obviously can’t go wrong with HP’s, but the standard LI is probably enough.
