L1 Dual and FHP

FHP has been running I/O KA band a lot more the past few months.

I got IO'ed (or however you spell it) last weekend by FHP. I saw the marked cruiser in the breakdown lane long before he triggered it. Not sure why he bothered at that point.

This is how fhp does I/O. They completely suck at it in MOST cases. Only a handful of times they hide in areas that I can't spot before being hit. Port st lucie is good at hiding.

Interesting experience though - he pulled over someone after we passed him. No alert from my wife's Passport 8500 x50. I wonder if the V1 with it's rear facing antennae would have alerted to it.

Radartest.com hates the V1 and this is what they said about the V1's rear radar detection, "We found it gave anywhere from two to three times the detection range of the other units." LOL, did you really just post test results from radartest.com. I agree though the V1 is the best with rear detection.

A couple things.


Two LI heads, or 3/4 Blinder heads should be enough for most, if not all shooting scenarios, though testing would be needed to be sure. More heads can be added to the LI if needed.

I have a question on that, why is two LI heads enough? I just received and will have installed on June 28 a LI quad unit on my Honda CR-V to cover both front and rear, or do all you need is one head for front and one head for the rear?

No, it can't. ELVATO was speaking only of front coverage, which for some odd reason, a lot of people think is all they need.

I have nearly been nabbed by this tactic a few times at night in poorly lit areas. Luckily I had traffic around me that didn't slow down (while I detected it and did slow down). Sheer luck on my part.
