    Default Day of Reckoning

After 2 years of having the LI installed I finally got hit. I was driving down a major highway in NJ, I have the radio pretty loud, I hear the LI go off and think oh just sunlight warning blah blah..........not this time it was a real alert and the V1 then sounds (V1 was high too). At first I did not see the cop (I am thinking maybe 1000 ft ahead), but approaching the middle median there he was shooting away. I was going about 80 in a 65 left lane, as soon as I heard the alert I got down to speed and shut it down. I passed him looking in the rearview, and no movement. By the way, no external speaker so I did not hear which gun it was plus I shut down quick.

    Congrats on the first save

Now it's time for an external speaker to hear what they are using.

Even after 2 years of not getting hit by LIDAR, it was WELL worth the money!! 15mph over the limit? Yeah, he would have came out after you. The LI is worth it..even after 2 years of no LIDAR.. congrats on the save!!

I'm amazed that it took him 2 years to get hit with laser in NJ. Driving the parkway or turnpike in one day would almost guarantee a NJSP laser hit.

Strange I don't drive the TP or GSP that much, but 1 once a year I make a trip up to CT and still never got hit from NJ to NY to CT cops. Just a matter of time, a lot of cops are still using the old X band, and a little Ka that I have seen.

Sweet, the 1st true alert/save is always the most memorable IMO.

    Good on ya/Getter Done!

Similar instance here. I was hit last weekend on I-195 in NJ and LI went off. I slowed and turned it off and was saved.
Normally they use C/O X-Band there, so the LI saved my butt. This was my first hit since putting it in 3 months ago.
Interestingly, my 9500ix did not signal at all, as they were shooting low, from the median, and angled near a curve in the road, so that you could not see them until it was too late after you rounded the curve.
