Default Question on which package to buy

Hi all, new to the forums and have a couple of questions.

Seems LIDAR use in my town is on the rise and after getting nailed by one today without even an alert from my 9500i, I've decided it's time to add LI to the mix. I've got a new Audi S4 due here in a couple of weeks and it just so happens the LI heads fit perfectly in the grill and should make for a relatively easy install and I could do it at the same time I hardwire my 9500.

My question is which package I need. Cops around here don't seem to nail anyone from the rear, so I've pretty much decided on the dual then adding a couple more heads later if I need it. My question is do I need the high power version? Most of the LEOs here like to nail you cresting overpasses, and in the past I've typically only seen them doing it in one location situated in the median 100 yards or so away. Today, however, it seems they found a new location much closer to a different overpass (maybe 150 feet or so) on the side of the road behind a road sign. Didn't even see them until I was being pulled. Will the standard heads, or even the HP heads be able to successfully jam a situation like this?

    Thanks in advance.

    Welcome to the forum.
Standard heads would do just fine.

Standard heads will work fine, but there is no such thing as overkill in this game. Buy the best you can possibly afford. It's just stupid to spend high $$ on a performance import status car and scrimp on an extra grand to save your licence to drive it.

And yes, the cops do use rear in your area. But unless you drive the wrong way against traffic a lot, you'll never see them.

Curious that you say that without knowing my area or where I typically drive. Not trying to be standoffish, but just wondering why you made that comment.

Because it has nothing to do with your area. It has to do with cops. And I know cops.

I do agree with this, but it is not entirely true. I do think it has to do with your area. For example. On some parts of the Mass Pike all there is, is guard rails and a brake down lane suited for a small car. A LEO cannot access the terrain (grass, dirt...etc) due to the guard rails, so a LEO physically cannot park his car in brush, or next to a tree...etc to shoot you in the arse because he physically cannot get his car behind it, which makes it merely impossible to get shot in the rear without seeing the cop in advance. The LEO's in my area on the Mass Pike sit in the median between of the highways simply because, they have no other option. Nonetheless, I would strongly suggest rear protection.

Good point! Obviously, terrain can limit what an officer (or you) can do. But my point is that, anywhere that they physically CAN shoot rear, they do and will. It has nothing to do with trying to defeat jammers. It's simple human nature, as well as a serious officer safety issue.

Also completely eliminates the brake light warning drivers typically receive from other drivers.

I didn't think they shot rear in my area either, until I got a rear alert from the V1. after 6 seconds of staring into my RVM, i spotted him, nearly completely hidden by trees on the opposite side of the highway....

Counting pennies towards rear heads now... and never do more than PSL+14 in an area where terrain would allow for a rear shot.
