Default Has anyone reprogrammed the voices on the LI?

I may be very picky but this has got me curious. I have the dual LI with the V1 integration. Every time the car starts up I hear the voice prompt "Parking aid is deactivated". This voice/recording is very different than the voice prompt that says "Parking aid activated" because if you listen to the two you'll noticed the deactivated one just sounds better.

So my question is: What is the best sample rates the LI will play? What I'd like to do is record some better quality versions and replace them.

Also, where did you guys get the USB to serial adaptor to work with the LI module?

No, but I would love to try it. Just need to find time to play around with the system some.

I didn't know you could record your own alerts. Get some babe with a hot Australian accent.

I ordered mine off the internet. It's an AirLink 101. I don't remember the price but it was probably less than $20, delivered. I still haven't had an occasion to use it yet.

I just now plugged it into the USB port and got the following message "Installing device driver". The process completed successfully. I'm using windows 7, Professional, if that matters. My wife has a small notebook with Windows 7 Pro on it. When I need to connect to my LI one of these days for an update, I'll use her notebook and this AirLink 101 USB-serial port adapter for the task.

I'm almost 100% sure you can do this. I was reading a while back amount someone on here who actually took the voice off the CPU and added more treble, bass...etc. He basically digitally remastered the voice and the alerts. I'm not sure where I read it, but I'll try searching for it. If I find the post, I'll post it here.

Well this is what I hear when I start up my car. The "Parking aid deactivated" sounds like it has more bass and actually just sounds like it was recorded better.

If you go to the Laser Interceptor website you can download the software to reprogram. I've heard that you could possible mess some things up if you're not careful.

My vehicle only says "Welcome" when I start up and then later, "parking assist deactivated" - is there a version issue with why some say theirs says parking assist activated first?

I have a friend at work that's willing to record a few of the LI sounds for me..like Welcome, etc. Just a few and I'll see if I can tweak it. She's damn cute too, with a bit of a southern accent. woohooo
