What is the differences between the HP version 7 and 8 Heads? Are they both slim design?

There is no "7" Sensors. All Sensor Version have been Ver 8.x. Current Version are 8.8 and are all slim size for USA/Canada.

I meant 8.7 versus 8.8 sorry...
Sensor hardware versions:
8.0, 8.1: Same
8.2: XR enabled
8.5: Minor changes and small bugfix
8.7: Minor HW change for improved performance
8.8: Minor HW changes for improved performance with new Gen. 8 CPU and slim Sensors allowing front and rear installations

Thanks!
Out of curiosity, how does each compare to the other in effectiveness? I was toying on possibly buying an older and used LI for a car I don't use a lot. I love my 8.8 HP (it's pure sex!), but another 2 grand for a car I don't drive a whole lot doesn't make perfect sense...especially because that is probably more than the car is worth!!!!
I'm sure you will be happy with the older Generations of LI as well. Keep in mind, however, the CPU should be updated and a Gen. 8 to provide protection for existing and new to be released threats.

How do the 8.7 slim rear heads compare to the 8.7 front heads and the new 8.8 slim heads?
8.7 Slim sensors are less deep than the previous generation 8.7 front sensors. Sensors. 8.8 have different hardware than the 8.7. No real operational differences.
Effective March 1, 2010, we have eliminated the larger sensor from The LI-USA Product Line completely. With the new Generation 8 CPU's enhanced receiver and detection capabilities, we can now fully exploit the smaller sensor in both the front and rear vehicle applications and at the same time allowing for easier and more stealthy installs due to their smaller foot print.

Can we get a picture of the size difference or physical measurements?
