    So then, what is this upgrade send-to-Zagreb claptrap? Somebody hook theirs up to a PC and see if you can read it... maybe the lookup table is in plaintext

    NO, the usb port is for the Cheetah Bluetooth stuff only, it is expensive stuff and not used much, i dont beleive the protocol is there on the USB port for anything other than the cheetah stuff.

    Page 1 of the manual states:

    "Should new laser frequencies be allocated by the Home office then the unit can be upgraded in the field using the loom port (RJ45) in the junction box."

    The RJ45 is an ethernet port.

    This has been discussed time and time again....you either need to send the unit back overseas to the manufacturer or you buy the hardware etc for upgrading the unit and then you can do it..

    You cant just connect the AL/LPP to your PC and simply update it. :arrow:

    Actually Speed Cheeta is not that expensive. The Bluetooth conneciton for the LPP is coming out in 4 weeks. Its only going to cost around $30 in U.S. dollars. I for one would pay $30 to have a wireless 15 minute install.

    There other accessories such as the power module is again only around $30 / $40. This is a nice product if you add it with the blue tooth module, you hook up the power modoule to your battery - mount the head and your done. No wires to run through the firewall

    To be honest I thought it would be pricey as well but I sent them an email about 3 weeks ago and those are the prices they gave me!

    Ok .....so the AL cannot be upgraded via your PC.......BUT.....The DS can...... :idea:

    The only problem is that the DS doesn't exist......

    I'll stick with a "proven" product....thank you very much........ :wink:

    The only thing DS has that I'd like to " Connect " is that Windbag Neil..... :P

    I'm sure he's "Screwing" another gun Right Now...... :roll:

    Horn;

    I am not going to start a war here but DS does exist, they are shipping the 2nd batch of orders this week and I have one, so it proves they do exist man, your continual "they dont exist" is getting old man!!!

    Infact I have updated mine with new firmwares 4 times since i have got it as they find new features and improve the way it works, they release it to the consumers for upload from your PC, takes all of 30 secs to update it. I have a vid showing how to update..ill post it up later

    Now back on topic
