Default AL G8 placement and performance.

    Hi all,

Installing ALG8 on a Ford Focus ST.

I am very uncertain about the rear transceiver placement. Near the license plate will look terrible (the car is silver so it stands out like a sore thumb. I am considering mounting under the third brake light on the rear spoiler, X marks the spot on the pic below.

    What do you think?

What is the radius of coverage on the ALG8?

I have a similar question and didn't want to start a new thread, hope you don't mine.

I have a G35 coupe and I was wondering if one ALG8 head was enough to cover the rear. Where should I place it?

    Same questions for the front

    The chrome grill scares me.

Jamster... I do know that the AL G8 has a pretty wide coverage. Mounting the head high up will definitely work against the bridge shots, but for the low shot, i am not too sure... you gonna have to test it to actually find the most ideal location.

    Thats my advice.

    jamster,
if you mount high like that you will get close range PT, possibly up to 300-500'.

after that, i'm not sure how consistent it will be, due to the heavy curvature.
your best bet is above the plate, maybe near the base of the wiper arm.

not much else you can really do. you may have to choose performance over looks on this one.

    KulSecHskY,

that's a tough one. your plate is so low, my guess would be that they would do a basic CM shot, so ideally if there was room, dead center. doesn't look like it though, so i would probably choose under the spoiler.

if overhead and short range shots aren't an issue, you may get away with it above the plate and flush or slightly protruding from the edge of the bumper.
once you get further out, the coverage area will widen.
