when you guys do your base runs and testing, if you have time, try a run or 2 for each with headlights on.

i know this can slightly affect older guns, but i don't know if it does anything to newer ones.

i remember at SML someone was talking about turning off the headlight on motorcycles to test jammer performance. thing is most if not all bikes don't have an on/off switch. the headlight is always on when the bike is.

just curious if headlights have any affect, especially if the light is blocking some of the reflectivity of the reflector inside?

since you have the newest gun it would be interesting to see.

    thanks guys.

Good suggestion to try with the headlights on/off. Not sure this data will be available on all cars since I believe Canada autos have DRLs.

Regarding the question of PT performance difference in daylight vs night:

I read JTW's explanation and I see where his analogy may seem appropriate. The analogy is good, however visible light comparisons aren't accurate. To really know the difference, one would have to measure the ambient IR in the lidar gun sensitivity range during the day and at night. And if there is a difference, then the gun/jammers are probably setting a threshold above which they consider it a 'true' signal. The guns *could* be adjusting this threshold based on daylight, *maybe* not all the jammers. And hence the difference in PT observed.
