Default [Part 1 of 2 Video] Laser Mimic w/Veil on the headlights

    Part 1 of 2
    Laser Mimic & Veil Video

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9jf5Zai5s8

First things first. The Laser Mimic is NOT in product and is no longer available. This thread is purely for the entertainment of the readers and should not be considered a review to help you out with a jammer buying decision because this jammer no longer exists. I'm posting this video up because it's fun to see other jammers performance(at least for me it is.)

    My thoughts:
I forgot to mention in the video we have Veil on the headlights and this time we tested on a sunny day, instead of in the rain. On the first run I wanted to try a different HUD display, showing both the speed and distance simultaneously in the HUD. I found this to be very difficult because while I was shooting the unit the distances would show up so quickly that I thought it was a punch through, but it wasn't. Just like the stalker LZ-1, the laser atlanta can get punch throughs on the distance, but not on the speed reading. For the rest of the runs I went back to the same ole hud style of just a speed reading punch through.

    Headlights are such a pain
I know you veterans know this, but for the noobs reading about laser jammers for the first time I can't stress enough how important it is for you to place the heads in the best jamming position. John's main goal is jam the guns with the stealthiest install. While this goal is everyones dream(who wants to make their car look ugly with jammer heads?), in reality you're going to have to sacrafice a little looks sometimes if you want JTG performance. When we're in Canada john has given me permission to mount the jammer heads however I want on his car to see if it'll really make a difference on our testing. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know if your heads are far away from the headlight it'll punch through. I'm very excited to show you the difference in performance.

    The effects of Veil
Is it just me or does it look like Veil stops the jam codes from appearing at further distances? On the rainy day test the Jam codes seemed to almost come up immediately, but at further distances with Veil I saw a lower frequency.

John and I meet a random V1 guy in the parking lot of starbucks
So here we are sitting in the parking lot at Starbucks. I look through my windshield and I see a radar detector on the windshield of this black dodge dakota sport. I rolled down my window to tell John it looks like an escort, only to have him correct me it was a V1. Because we're both dorks we waited 3 minutes to see if the owner of the truck would come out with his coffee so would could congradulate him on his purchase. All of you know how it feels when you see another person with a high end detector. It's like you're part of a club, sort of like how bikers waive at each other. Anyway the guy came out and John and I told him we were doing some laser jammer testing and he should get a jammer for the truck. The guy asked what he should buy and I told him to come to our board and make the decision himself. I know this is a boring story but what the hell.

If you have any questions John(Audi Quattro) and I have answers.

Good work, guys. That was really good aiming having a camera mounted on it without using a tripod. I turn off the quality chirp so I know when to stop shooting. I wonder how much the chirp helps you? It kinda gets on my nerves, and I need to be extra focused on HUD for a speed reading.

Good vid too. Hope to see you guys here soon.

Thanks but I don't want it in the video section because I have a full page of text review. Please move it back.

    Nice stuff!

I'm guessing the Stalker sees if there are any extra/un-expected IR pulses (which could even be from reflections of the car), which is why Veil, when used, cuts down on extra reflections (not just those coming from the jammer).

    Is this guess right?

I don't even think Jim knows the answer to this. You'd think the technology would be proprietary.
