Question for people in Middle Tennessee

I have been a longtime reader of this forum and until recently, there was no need for me to register.

Today while at work, a police officer came in and noticed my Rescue jacket hanging up. We struck up a combination and he informed me that my town recently aquired 20 laser guns. When I asked what brand and make, he said he didn't know.. I live in Brentwood which is located 10 miles south of Nashville.

My question is, is it possible to call the police department asking what guns they now have? Or will I have to ask another officer what they all use?

Another possibility is that I want to now pick up a jammer sometime in the near future but from I have heard, you need to know what type of guns the department uses before you purchase the jammer.

Any input is always appreciated!

You can search some law enforcement department's website to find out what brand of laser and radar guns they use. (VA state police for example)

Or you could just call them and ask, maybe they will tell you.

I doubt that calling the local police department would be very effective. If you run into an officer out in public, try carefully talking to him/her about their gadgets that they have. Just tell them you are an enthusiast or something.

Most state or city government purchases need to be accounted for, and many governments will post their budget expenditures on their website.

I was able to do that in Wisconsin to verify which radar units our DNR is planning on using to enforce our new Snowmobile speed limits imposed this year.

35.5 MHZ Talon-2's 10 of them at $1,200.00 each!

I appreciate all of the ideas.. The problem is, the department in my area does not like to tell about the gadgets they receive. If I see this one cop again I will definitley ask.

The question is, what jammer can jam the most guns.

I _believe_ it is prolaser III (Nashville) based on some documents I have found with google and what I've seen out on the road *shrugs* Not sure about brentwood though
