    Default Lidatek LE10

    Hello all,

Just joined after months of reading these forums to help me choose a new RD. Now that my vision is blurred and I own a shiny new V1, I now have a laser jammer question. I have an opportunity to buy a brand new LE10 for a little over $100. I know they are discontinued but I remember reading somewhere that it was more powerful than the newer ones from Lidatek. Up here in BC we have the following guns in use: Ultralyte, Marksman, Stalker LZ1, Laser Atlanta. Is the LE 10 still effective against these? I went to the G.O.L. site and couldn't find anythig on this specific model.

Opinions, thoughts? Thank you to any and all that reply.

The Lidatek LE-10 is unique in the way it operates, compared with current jammers. Instead of timing jamming pulses precisely with incoming pulses as most of today's jammers do, it first detects the laser, then sends out jamming pulses at a very high frequency (2-4 MHz). Using this method, it should be able to successfully jam any gun that it is capable of detecting, even some future laser guns. The downsides are that this method requires overdriving the laser diodes beyond their rated specs, so only a short jam time is possible. Also, this method will trigger jam codes on all laser guns that use jam codes.

Nice explanation Jim. In order to prevent immediate overburning of the laserdiodes, how long does the LE10 send it's burst before shutting down?

LE10 is gonna trigger E07 on Ultralytes and VPD officers are gonna pull you over for that. It won't be pretty, trust me.

I think 5 seconds (but don't quote me on that).

Also, the LE-10 isn't exactly eye-safe. Among the more obvious reasons for the limited jam time, one more reason they gave was to "reduce the possibility of of injury to pedestrians in the path of the jamming laser beam"

Let's face it Jim. Stuff you say here gets quoted, whether you want/like it or not.

Yeah, the LE-10 fires for a full 5 seconds, then recycles for about 60 seconds, and like mouse said, it WILL give a jam code.
