Default If Laser Jammers became as illegal as Radar Jammers. . .

    Just wondering. . .

If laser jammers suddenly became a felony to use in all states, what would you do? And for this poll, the LPP counts as a jammer.

I put the slash on there for the folks considering getting a jammer but who have not yet done so (like me).

And I put the third option so those folks won't skew the rest.

This has probably already been discussed before. . . but I wanted to see a poll

Probobably same as rob. Although you would see a huge spike in interest for passive countermeasures.

92% would risk going to jail for a laser jammer? Come on... Do all 92% of you use a radar jammer? Why not? Isn't it the same thing or am I missing something. I'll believe it when I see it, but for now I think you're blowing smoke.

Well I am speaking from my toying with the guns at the event...While you could easily get a speed reading on the road with the stalker LZ1 I couldn't and I am assuming most cops can't. E04 on the Stalker is easy just aim at the sun and bang...the Laser Atlanta isn't that dumb

they are illegal where i live and I still bought an LPP. The gun of choice around here is laser atlanta, and ultralyte.

Illegal smeagal.......if I get pinched all is fair in this game. Ill take my chances and pay the 170 dollar fine.

FYI I Got pinched by the spectre unit 3 weeks ago and lost my RD and ate the 170 dollar fine

I also got a 300 foot punch through with the laser atlanta the same week on my single head LPP too. The LEO didnt even suspect I had a jammer. (I suppose I was lucky)

I chalk it up to a bad week....no big deal.

I ordered an sti driver and will be getting another LPP head and I am better of because of it.

If I was a stickler for the law i wouldn't speed

Its just another tax.....and i pay enough already I dont feel bad about breaking the law with this stuff.

I think its criminal the way some leos choose to enforce the law, so i take some countermeasures to avoid dealing with them as much as possible.

Illegal makes little diff to me personally.

    I wouldn't play if I couldn't afford to pay

I think you're missing the pernt. The title was "if laser jammers became as illegal as radar jammers. . ." From what I know, if you get caught and prosecuted using a radar jammer you could face fines in the thousands and a serious amount of jail time. I believe it's a felony.

    The question is theoretical

They have arrested people already and charged them with interfering with an officer in his line of duty and sent them through the criminal courts which seriously frowed on the police for doing this.

The comment by the judge was it was akin to killing a fly with a sledgehammer.

Again regardless of this.... the risk for prosecution is still there and it doesnt really scare me much.

Thats just me though, i simply dont give a $#!T

Its only a parking sensor I had no idea it could jam police laser guns this would be my defense and I would beat the charge at trial if I ever found myself going through the court system vs paying a fine and confiscation.

This is why I went with LPP VS a jammer that is marketed as a jammer.

I dont know why you are so surprised. People dont give a $#!t about this cant you tell by your poll?

As long as it works well and is useful people will use it.....legal or not.
