So when the jammer goes off it is alerting that you are being shot with laser and at the same time it is sending out a jamming signal? How do you know the if the jam was succesful? Is the blinder M25 a decent unit. Up against pro laser 3 for the most part. Or a zr3 cause that intergrates with my x50. Whats the cheapest place for a zr3 and how much?

Correct.

With the exception of some in-use technicalities (i.e. some jammers can be set to a "receive only" mode, with no jamming, by manipulating the switchgear, etc.), this is the case.

How do you know the if the jam was succesful?

There is no way to quantify this, unless you take the time/effort to perform some testing yourself, using police LIDAR equipment.

The "success" of your jamming is thus typically reported as anecdotes, versus LIDAR traps that you encounter. Whether or not your not having received a speeding citation, thus, could either be attributed to your jammer or, alternatively could simply be your luck or could be that, by the officer's interpretation, that you simply weren't speeding "enough" to get you in trouble.

The "5"-suffix units have yet to have published independent testing results.

Against the PL III, both (speaking in terms of the "0"-suffix Blinder units only) should fare well, although it *does* seem that the ZR3 has a slight edge by examining the past GOL tests - however, it should be noted that with the ZR3, for these tests, they mounted them in the "enthusiast manner," with all three heads pointing forward.

TSi+WRX is correct. The first pulse that is recieved by the jammer triggers the jammer and then the jammer sends out pulses in whatever algorithm is required to fool the the gun from obtaining a reading. Units like the Blinder depend on its software to fool the lidar gun rather than just overwhelming it with IR light. Every gun has a different pulse rate and algorithm and the jammer figures out which one it needs to send out in order to jam the gun.

The PLIII is not a difficult gun to jam. The question is do they use other lidar guns in your area?

Although we are not allowed to recommend any particular jammer, I think that most of us folks still prefer the diode based jammers to the LED based jammers when push comes to shove.

I will be interested to see how the new Blinder units fair though. They do a very good job with certain guns.

Well I believe it was Raleigh that acquired some PL III guns. They are about 4 hrs from where I live. I noticed that my county sheriffs normally arnt running radar and became to think a lot of them dont have it. I got pulled over a while back for crossing center and almost causing head on collision with cop. That was some bs cause it was on tight road in a turn and I didnt hit him nor did he run off the road. He told me if he had radar he would of got me for speeding but I wasnt over buy about 6mph. Is there a way to confirm what my county is running. There is nothing in the my area thread or whatever its called.

It may make you a little nervous at first but go up and ask them. Many LEOs are very happy to talk about they're equipement. If you'd rather not just walk by a parked unit and check out what they got.

The cute little LEO in my neighborhood had no idea what Radar she was using. She just giggled when I told her it was a MPH K55 K band gun. And a used one at that.

Just would like to add that some jammers will continue to alert even after the gun has stopped being shot. For example, the LPP will alert for 4-5 seconds after the gun has stopped/gotten PT. And during those 4-5 seconds, it's not even sending out a jamming signal. Don't know why they can't just make it so that it only alerts when the jammer is going off. :roll:
