    Default 1 JAMMER 3 CARS?

Ok so I've searched around on here, and read up on jammers/wireless kits and whatnot. However, I still can't decipher all of this great laser jammer information enough to put it toward good use. So here is what I would like to do.
Is it possible to buy one Jammer, but enough diodes for 3 vehicles? Are the diodes quick disconnect? Or are they pretty much wired directly to the main unit, and it would be too much of a pain in the ass to remove them every-time I switched vehicles? Does the unit have to be secure in the vehicle, or do they make a bracket I can use like my RD? I would also like to know anyones experience with the wireless kit. Am I taking that through the high pressure car-wash, or is that a no go? Would it be sensible to buy 3 wireless kits for what I am trying to accomplish, or just a waste of money? Thanks for any feedback in advance.[/b]

Even if you have Cheetah wireless sistem in all 3 cars, you would have to take down the heads each time you want to swap LJ to another car. This would be time consuming job, because you would have to attach and level the heads vertically and horisontally each time.

Try searching Cheetah section here or Cheetah support forum for more info about Cheetah RD/LJ wireless sistem.

    Yeah, MF called it.

As much as i'd like to say get 3 Cheetah kits, it would be a waste of money.
Hey, imagine that, a company trying to save people money.. , anyway, here's why:

As MF said, the heads are the biggest pain to the whole setup.
Now 1 Cheetah kit would be very helpful though, plus 2 extra battery clips.
You could buy 1 full unit of whatever jammer you are looking at, then look at getting additional heads for the other vehicles.

now, the wireless receiver just plugs into a cig lighter, so that is portable.

you unplug the heads from the control box, unplug the Cheetah kit from the battery clip and move it to the next vehicle.
plug those things in and you're ready to go.

HOWEVER, even though that wouldn't take too long, if it was something you were doing on a daily or near daily basis, it would get old quick.
The Cheetah kit greatly eases installation, but you still would have a group of things to transfer, and the minute you are in a hurry and don't, is the day you get shot with laser.

Most the jammer heads are durable and waterproof, so car washes are fine.
unless you open the hood and blast the Cheetah stuff directly, they will be fine as well.
The jammer control boxes are not as durable, but the Cheetah kit includes a waterproof box for that, so you are fine.

This should help, so probably the first question is, how often will you be changing vehicles, since this would be a big factor in how many jammers and kits you are looking at doing, plus budget concerns for all 3 vehicles, since jammers are pricey.

Thanks for the replies. I switch between two vehicles for work 4days in one and 1 day in the other, and the third vehicle I use mainly for road trips. $$ and accessibility are my main concerns. I hoped I could just set up all three vehicles with the diodes and take the unit to which ever car I needed. I really don't want to buy 3 jammers. I am really not familiar with the components of the jammer or how they interface with each-other. I figured the diodes run through the firewall and plug into the back of the unit. I'm going to do some more research, and check out some more cool videos like ELIVIS posted.

Theoretically, here's what you can do.

I'm going to use the LPP for this example, and I'm going to assume you have three average sized cars (not trucks or SUVS.)

There are three components to the LPP kit; the head, the control box, and the bundle of wires that comes out of the control box which include the killswitch, LED, speaker, and mute button.

You could set up one head per car. It should be sufficient for the average person. Run the jammer head cables in through the firewall (I have them through my door .)The the LPP heads connect to the control box with a detachable telephone-like plug. Have them come out where ever you want.

At Walmart, you can get a 12V cigarette plug with wires attached to it. Attach these wires to your control box. Now you have a box that can get power from a cigarette(12V point) instead of a hardwired to your car. Put some Velcro on it, and now you can mount it anywhere in your car while still being removable.

Now for the ethernet-like bundle of wires that includes the LED, killswitch, speaker, and mute button. Go to Radio Shack, and get one of there black plastic project boxes. Should be like 2-3 dollars. Drill some holes, and mount LED, killswitch, etc in the box. Put some Velcro on that, and put anywhere in any of the cars.

There you have it The only problem might be cost. You'd have to get an LPP dual head and ask them for the price of another head. But other than that, this should work. I have a picture of what the black box with the LED, killswitch, etc looks like, if you want.

Yeah the picture would be cool. Can you post it here? When you say get the plug at wal mart, are you talking about a male end that can plug into my cig lighter hole? Why do the jammers come with a kill switch? The vehicles I have are one four door sedan, and two sports cars no SUV's. So I guess like you said 1 head for each should be sufficient. Do you think I need rear protection though? Thanks for all the input.

Yea, the male part of the plug. They sell them with the black and red wires, ready to be spliced/joined.

I'll post the pic when I get home.

The switch is there for when you want to turn off the jammer. Many people here find it in good practice to shut off the jammer when you are down to the speed limit so the officer can get a reading.

BTW, I'm pretty sure the LPP and the AL come with the same "package/components" so the above suggestion would work for that as well. Heck, it would probably work with any jammer, but I've only worked with the LPP, so that's the only one I'm familiar with.

Here it is. I know, it's crappy. Word of advise, make sure you have the right sized drill bit. That's what I get when you cheap out and only buy the 4 dollar set, instead of the 10 dollar one with more bits. ops:

That looks good enough for me. I'm all about performance, screw making it look pretty. If it functions right, then it's all good in my book. Thanks for the pic now I understand clearly.
