Default AUDI A4 LI install - pics

    This is my contribute.

Just bought my brand new LI, I figured to install it into my A4:

I used a L profiled aluminium rod to ensure the best and easiest alignement and levelling:

Some adjustment to the grille to fit the alumium rod:

Now the aluminium support with two LI heads is ready to be fixed to the grill:

Now the front bumper is back on and heads are gooing to be levelled:

Heads cables are passed toghether with other cabling:

    and trough the firewall:

    And the job is finished!.......

    Have a nice day......

    Ohh Boy.

I have to tell you that you really shouldnt have installed the jammer like this as the jammer is totally obstructed by the grille and is way too recessed to be effective.

This is seriously going to hurt your performance and I can pretty much guarantee you wont have anything near JTG with that setup, especially when targeted from an elevation or the side of the road.

You were far better off installing them at the top of the lower left and right grilles underneath the headlights.

I think most others in here will agree you need to redo your install.

Cut the grille and install them flush if you want them installed in the centre grille otherwise install them lower left and right grilles closer to the plate and make sure they sit at least flush with the bumper...if they stick out a bit more thats fine but dont have them too recessed as it will cut back their performance.

I like the idea but you have to fix it up a bit before its ready for the road.

    Good luck

    BTW....I Love the car...nice ride

Dont be so quick to jump to conclusions. I have some rather interseting videos to post up in a few with my LI installation. I am going to put this in all caps. THE LI IS ONE SUPER POWERFUL SETUP!!!!

I think you may have not a clear idea of my install....

Neither the laser diode nor the IR sensor are obstructed by the grille! The laser beam is 20 x 11 degrees wide and within this solid angle there are NOT any obstructions. Maybe in the pic the head seems quite far from the grille. It's not true. It's very very close and then the beam is not interferred unless the LEO is less than 20 meters from you.

Maybe LI guys can confirm this is correct. Otherwise I'll modify my installation...

    **edit**

Long range center mass shots and headlight shots, he will be fine. Its the off axis or overhead bridge shots I would worry about because they look as if they are back slightly to far.in the grill. If they aim at the plate first like they are supposed to, the leo will never get PT on the car. That may change with extreme short range shots. Less than 150-200 ft or so.

I will seriously try to get my videos on youtube fri or sat to diffuse all the doubts about how versatile these LIs are.

    HORRIBLE INSTALL!!!!!

Push the head out a bit so it has a complete unobstructed veiw of the road!

Just cause you think a jammer is superior doesn't constitute mounting a head behind an obstruction

I generally agree with the typical unobstructed view installation process but video evidence will soon shed light on just how much detection radius the LI heads have. It is truly shocking.

It's a horrible install. Mounting the head back alittle decrease reception and would make it easy got an officer to get a reading on the car

Cut the centerpiece in the middle of the head and push the laser jammer head out more
