    Default Pontiac GTO Installation Questions

Okay, is it bad to mount a laser reciever INSIDE the car, like behind the glass. I am thinking of installing the rear receiver in my 3rd brake light housing (disabled it anyways because I have a light on my spoiler). It seems like it will be a lot of effort to run it all the way to rear plate. I also don't like the idea of not having a license plate frame. I don't have any room to mount it up front, that has already been suggested.

    The windshield will interfer.

I thought it would be a slick install into the highbeam of the headlights, but just the same it will not work.

I don't think it will work too well. I think you have a better chance of it working if you mount it in your spoiler light.

Then again, I don't think it will do much back there, so if you are going to use it only for detection purposes, I guess it would still alert in the 3rd brake light.

Why bother? Won't work. Kind ok like being a porn star with ED. What good is having a 9 inch tool if it will be useless?

Okay, the general consensus looks like no. New question, how low is too low. What if I mount it in the honeycomb mesh right above the GTO on my bumper.

What Kind of Jammer are you mounting?

AL, LPP or LI I would mount verticle with the bubble up in the rear plate cove. (green)

Another option is horizontal at the top (yellow)

Your choice of pink is the honeycomb mesh and is too low to protect the plate and taillights well but would still be better than nothing.

Green would be my first choice Yellow my second for dual heads at teh back. if you are doing a single head do it in the plate cove dead middle (which would be in the centre of the yellow markers in the photo)

I wouldnt mount them honey comb grille, but thats just me.

    Good luck,

    Noory

Maybe I misread, but I thought he had a SR7?

^ If it's an SR7, the only good that'll do is serve as a rear-hit detector. It's totally inadequate as a jammer, under the vast majority of circumstances, when speaking of a rear-on enforcement scenario.

If the SR7 is used, just put it right above the plate using the supplied bracket, making sure that it doesn't un-necessarily block your rear plate lighting (and thus make you a standout night-time enforcement target, due to improper plate illumination).

Otherwise, if you're seeking true rear protection, go with what brother noory suggested in terms of jammers and mounting.
