Default LPP is the Jammer the most expensive cars in the world have!

Yep, some of the fastest and most expensive cars in the world know what they need to protect them on the roads... a Laser Pro Park...this is why I love and stand by my LPP, 100% reliable! if a 1 million buck car has one, then I want one..lol

This is just too good not to show you guys

    Check these monsters out:

    Bugatti Veron

Veyron concept, a 16-cylinder quadruple turbo charged car with 1001 hp DIN (736 kW), 0-100 km/h( 0-60 mph) in 2.5 sec. and goes 408 km/h

    2008 Mercedes SLR Roadster

    Net power 617 hp @ 6,500 rpm, Net torque 575 lb-ft @ 3,250 – 5,000 rpm Price, $497K, 0-60mph 3.7 sec

Actually, -usually- they end up with Some Other Brand of jammer. I had to show my Lexus team the TeamJTG vids before they'd believe me about it.

If I was the owner of the SLR, I wouldn't be too happy with that quad LPP install, given that the key concern must be the driver's licence, based on price of car against cost of ticket = "whatever"

IMVHO, the front install is way too low and given the angles the lpps, being mounted flush with the body panel, must be pointing into the bushes/oncoming traffic.

no way dude, the profile on that car is so low...having the LPP there is 10000% fine. I have a simalar profile on my car and i have the heads mounted that low and it is JTG and i have more surface area than the SLR

Looks like a good install to me.

Ah well, I live and learn, but I still wouldn't chance it myself. I've got mine pretty low (and straight), but would've passed on the skirt and gone for the grille instead on that one.

You can mount an LPP behind the grill?

You'll never know until you try it and test it.

Great pics, like the other said how effective is it behind a grill? Some others were saying it is too low, but some protection is better than no protection.

^ Actually, I'll disagree to that last statement -

In my most humble opinion, "some protection" is the most dangerous kind - the user thinks he/she is protected, and yet is not.

One must know the actual performance parameters of their protective envelope. Either that, or just forget being protected at all, and err on the conservative side.

Nothing, to me, is worse than unreliable/partial protection.

    --------------------------------

As with nomad and the others, I'd want to test it, first-hand, to be sure, too.

This was my posting on the RR.net Forums, and my concerns still remain the same

    Questions:

    --

What does the Veryon's front-end look like, in terms of mounting?

    --

That SLR should have its setup tested....

I'm almost afraid as to whether the front setup would be too low - but given the low-to-the-ground profile of the car, as well as its favorable (with the exception of the Mercedes badge and lighting elements; the latter of which should be well-covered by the LPPs positioned even as they are) LIDAR profile, it *should* be OK. Still, if I were the owner of the vehicle, I'd want to test-out, just to be sure.

Same for its rear setup, too, as it sits behind a mesh grill.

    --

I'm also concerned for the rear jammers on both of those vehicles as I do not know where their main exhaust elements route - the LPP heads have been shown by an end-user with a Lotus Elise/Exige to be very sensitive to radiant heat, with significant performance decreases when exposed to such. With any of these supercars, their heat production is massive, and I would want to be sure that the rear LPP heads are well away from any radiant heat sources.

    ------

In so far as the behind-the-mesh mounting is concerned, from my RR.net follow-up on this:

Actually, as long as the mesh has enough "open-ness" it should be OK. The critical aspects are, of course, the emitter diode (which is easy to leave "uncovered," 100%, as it's so small), as well as the receiver lens (i.e. the e optical collimator lens - it would be a bit obstructed, no matter what's done, in this case; however, without direct first-hand testing, it would be impossible to know how this may impact actual jamming effectiveness).

You can see in this picture that the mesh on this vehicle is much less conducive to such a mounting:

    http://www.laserproparkusa.com/forum...r=asc&start=30
^ Third post on this page - is where he points out the emitter diode location.

Also, look at brother PMoth's EVO setup on RD.net - using the LI "behind mesh," he gets nothing short of JTG performance on a number of US police LIDAR.

    -----------------------

Also, in reply to tactical22's reply above:

I do not doubt that this installer knew what he was doing.

However, as we all know, one vehicle can differ significantly from the next, and in the case of these extraordinary automobiles, particularly with such difficult/uncommon mounting locations, I would think that it would be most wise to undertake rigorous quantitative testing, first-hand. 8)

The front profile of the SLR is prob better and harder to lock than that dodgy video outrun did with that corvette, a black car, with this profile, hell I think a blinder would prob jamm..lol

The officer will most likely aim for the Merc badge and the jammers will light up and do their job!

    Man the merc looks great!
