I was willing and ready to swallow my pride and seek the help of a professional, but with the help of members from this forum and NAM's (mini cooper), it is possible. Just expect to spend a lot of time figuring simple things out like what tools to use and how to use them properly. You really need total addictive immersion into this hobby to persevere and triumph.

Otherwise, if you want an efficient and more realiable install and can't afford to get another LIDAR speeding ticket, seek professional help. Shouldn't cost too much especially if you factor in the cost of tools and random parts. I never knew what a Dremel was until I got one for my install. Although I'm happy and confident with my install, it has not been really tested. If my car goes into flames or something, I'll let you know.

I'm not being funny or biased but...........I think you'd benefit from using one of these:
    http://www.radarbusters.com/laser-ja...fittingkit.cfm

The wireless fitting kit lets a novice with zero experience of car electrics fit a jammer quickly and, more importantly safely. There is no easier way to fit a jammer.

Watch RacerX's two videos on this thread.

Congratulations on deciding to get a jammer and good luck with the instal.

^ allyoops has a good point - indeed, with the Cheetah systems, a DIY install is easy do-able, even for a complete greenhorn.

If I'm not mistaken, part of the Cheetah design philosophy is that the items be DIY-able even by complete mechanical/electrical "noobs."

That's a very good idea, computersoc, if you are committed to a DIY project.

Do these Cheetah systems work with ANY laser jammer? Yes, I admit that I too am a "greenhorn" noob!!

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express, but it didn't help me.

They have a list on their site of the supported systems. Right now I think it is everything except LI jammers.

LI team and Cheetah team have contacted about it, but it seems that there is a problem because of LI voice skins (users can upload their own voice warnings) and cheetah needs to be programmed to recognise warning signals... hope they will solve it somehow....

Figures that the one system I might get (LI) is the one that is not supported by the Cheetah! Cruel fate!

I would love to say what car I have. But then I'd get a virtual lynching from other members of this board!

I checked that LI board, and it had no instructions for my vehicle.

I might have to find some enthusiasts here in Houston and recruit their help.
