Default I Think I Will Pass on The PASS

I was about to pull the trigger on the PASS system but decided to wait untill its been tested by disinterested 3rd parties.

After seeing multiple tests from the CFL meets I have to say I am very dissapointed with its performance.

CFL 7-13-08 4head PASS Ford Expedition

4 heads and I couldnt tell that the vehicle even had a jammer on!

Just for laughs I wish they would hook up a dual head LI to Mr Elvato's SUV. Judging from what I've seen so far a dual head LI could probably JTG a bus or transport truck!

BTW thanks for the CFL guys who took the time to get together and test all these jammers with all those guns! Great Work!

The only thing that could have made it better would have been an IR camera so we could see if those PT's were the result of not seeing the beam or poor software/jamming.

I've basically made up my mind on a jammer now. I dont think I need to wait any longer for GOL "08

Pretty clear who's going to be the winner.

That wouldn't be too far from the truth but rather an LI QUAD!

**Please note** that the LIs used at GOL 07 were LI Prototypes with two transmitting diodes in each head and not one which are found in the current retail version LI.

I would still wait for further testing.

Out of 2 "large scale testing" (CT and CFL), one got excellent results, while the other were not so good. Even the goons apparently got good results. I still don't know what to think... The only thing I can think is that in the other tests, cars were used, as opposed to SUVs (Hardy's and mine).

Also, keep in mind that this last test was probably not the best conditions for the PASS. I think I noted in the thread that I had set up the heads with the receiving diode in, jamming diode out (towards the headlights). I'll have to re-adjust the heads to how I had them during the 4th meet (receiving diodes out, jamming in) and play around with that setup, since that set up seemed to have yielded the "best" results yet.

This whole situation is interesting, to say the least.

But yea, a dual head LI is pretty capable.

How can you tell the difference?

Mine came with a red sticker on one side of the head. I can't remember if it was the receiving side, or the jamming side, but whichever side it's on, it's like that on all the heads.

Or, you could just take any digital camera or camcorder, and look at the heads at night. You'll see a little pink/purple dot flash every second.

Hmmmm. Strange. The first link worked for me early this morning.

Anyway, I am not sure what would be a LEO's reaction if he were unable to to get a laser speed reading on a white motor home. I suppose failure to get one on an SUV would be less suspicious.

I think the informal testing of L.I.'s subsequent to GOL's have confirmed there is not much, if any difference between the two prototype output diode heads versus the retail one diode.

I wish RacerX would weigh in on why the difference in PASS results.
