    Default Laser jammer detection

how good is a laser jammer at detecting laser in-use? Is it more sensative to laser scatter than an RD. NY troopers don't use it enough to justify the large expense on Blinder or LI, but if say ZR4 will pick up the scatter of it in use that may satisfy me. I have an F150 huge front end. Not sure if a jammer would even help with the size of the truck to jamm, but to detect in-time to slow down from scatter would be ok

A dual laser diode setup will protect your front end just fine. (LPP or LI). It is not recommended that you use anything less than a Quad LED jammer on that front end. I've tested the Blinder m20, M25, and Zr3 before. If you want to really protect that front, you better get a M45 or a laser diode jammer. Just so you know, the V1 is awesome at detecting laser scatter.

I think too much emphasis is placed on laser "scatter". That's once in a blue moon type stuff - most often, if you're getting a laser alert, you're the target. Those beams are just too tight.

^ x3. Scatter detection is an anomaly, not the norm. Conditions have to be just right for it to happen. It is nothing that should even be listed in the realm of possibility for purposes of evaluating your capabilities.

You can try a ZR3 or ZR4 will all three heads upfront and see how you fair if you want to try and save some dough..I have two ZR3 systems,my first LP905 and my current RX75 Pro Plus setup. My ZR3 has served me well, but i drive an 07 Milan and not a huge front like your F150.I just moved from NY to Ga,but while i was there for the last 7yrs,NYSP are lethal. They do a helluva lot of I/O KA and that is how they are trained. They hardly ever leave there system active, unless they are in the left lane clocking on coming traffic in the opposite left lane.In my time living there,i was lasered twice total, but both times i would of been toast without good eyes and my ZR3 system.

Newer F150 will get lit-up with a Zr3/4 by the LTI guns and the Stalker.
Although I didn't live there, I drove through the entire upstate NY last September and ran into constant on Ka 23 times. 5 going to Indiana and 18 coming back. I would call them all saves because I was definitely on a mission. I will agree on limited laser usage. I didn't get hit once.

I own two ZR3's and one ZR4, and they are "good" jammers for smaller/darker cars.

But, I think the F150 is just too much for either of these to protect. I would get an LI if I were you.
