I'm looking at getting a jammer and have done a decent amount of research at various sites. My problem is sorting through the BS of what's really going w/ respect to the jammers capabilities and what they truly are as a product. The reason I am posting here is follows. (Bear in mind I can't see any results or graphs as of yet)

There seems to be much debate about LI and its true capabilities. I was wondering if perhaps this link might explain why some are able to JTG w/ LI regularly while others are getting PT's.

    laserjammertests.com

    (can't insert links either apparently)

For those who don't see what I'm talking about:

[The "LI" retail version didn't perform as advertised. The Laser Star, Anti-laser, and Laser Pro park perform better then this jammer. You can read the detailed review and watch the test videos by clicking the laser interceptor tabs above. Laser Interceptor had a "prototype" tested by the Gol. After the "prototype" was tested and given rave reviews, Laser Interceptor changed the retail version and cut out 50% of the transmitting diodes. In effect, laser interceptor's TRUE performance was cut by that much too. It's a sad case. Many people were scammed by this company. Most don't even realize it yet. Carry a pen in your car. You're going to need it when the officer makes you sign a speeding ticket.]

So I was wondering if people know which LI heads they were using and if the revision numbers even mean anything w/ this company...

Collating data between various tests is already hard enough, now throw in two identical products not being identical.

I was also looking at LPP and also saw they were having issues even staying in business on the same website.

My friend has a Lidatek LE30 but it seems they are still in transition, thinking of giving them a call tomorrow to find out more if possible.

Was wondering if anyone here has Laser Star or P.A.S.S and what their experiences have been

Ideally I am looking at getting the best Laser diode setup I can find. I'd like to get something modular since I have 5 cars and growing. Was thinking of buying one kit with a 'box' and putting sensors on all the vehicles and swapping the box to my preferred ride of the day.

Any help or comments are much appreciated.

    Thx
The LI is the best, hands down, no doubt about it. If you buy anything other than LI, it comes with some compromise. The Laser Star is pretty awful. That website you read the bad stuff about LI on is biased. Their job was to sell Laser Stars. That has been proven by the testimony of given directly on this forum by John, one of the JA-3 members that run that website. The results you see on guysoflidar.com are legitimate. The only caveat to that would be that their results were worst case scenario and the results on normal cars are usually much better.

My name is John W. and I am known as Audi Quattro from this site. Myself and JTW worked on the Laser Star Jammer for over 2 years with Neil Brown in the UK bringing up the laser star from a total POS jammer to the final product that we were very happy about and made alot of videos about. I have a 2 head laser star on my Audi and it still works great and has saved me alot and I mean alot but if it starts acting up I have no were to go but another jammer system and it wont be...Laser Star.

The final product worked very well and I became the US Rep. for Laser Star and did very well but....we had alot of returns due to faulty heads and control boxes. We were in constant contact with Neil Brown to inform him about our concerns and how to fix the problems in the control boxes and the *3 beep* problem*.

Most of the problems were fixed and we would recieve the next shipment of the new and improved heads and control boxes a few weeks later and continue testing. Things were going very well.....but then we started getting the same crap we sent to Neil Brown back thinking it was new shippments for customers and Neil Brown would make up some excuse like his wife made a mistake and sent the wrong non-working jammers and we would have to wait another 1-2 months just to have the same non-working units on my door step.

It got to the point to where Neil Brown was very hard to reach and when he was reached he would duck the problems we were having so to fix the problems.

So to the members on this board who are wondering after all this has happened why am I....doing this?

Because I was scammed by Neil Brown and he scamming alot of people in Europe because he is selling none working or jammers that will fail very quickly.

I have stopped selling laser stars jammers for about 4 months or so because we never had a large enough shippment that I could sell because we would test every single head and control box to check for quality control issues to see what was good and what was crap and had to be sent back on our dime.

It was alot of fun at the beginning and we had high hopes of being very successful but reality set in because Neil Brown only thinks about him self and did not was us to succeed in the US and did not provide us with enough working units so we would have a large enough stock to work from.

For everyone that called Neil Brown a Scammer...Well you were right on.

I just wanted to tell the truth and it too be known and out there.

I also never scammed anyone and tested the QC of every unit before it went to the customer and provided qreat customer service to any customer who had a control box or jammer heads go bad and sent them tested and working units from my current stock at the time.

If I am banned I will accept that but if there are any questions I will anwser them also.

LI is currently the best performing jammer on the market hands down. If it wasn't I wouldn't run it on my own car.

^ Don't sell yourself short - this is something that we have not pursued, and thus have no knowledge of.

That could very well be a problem, too.

    Thank you for that.

Hum.....I wonder if your LIs might not still be "seeing" the ZR4 output, reflected off the lower bumper skin, just above where the ZR4 heads mount?

This is also why the heads are labeled "THIS SIDE UP". The Blinder heads, as far as I am aware, are similar.

Hmm...DJ mentions that his ZR4 heads are mounted inside some custom fabricated enclosures. Now it begins to make sense to me why he doesn't seem to experience any obvious cross-talk between his different jammer systems. And of course this now gets me to thinking that slapping some black duct tape on the tops and bottoms of all jammer heads might be a good idea? Sounds like a "test worthy" idea to me!
Thank you, MEM-TEK, for the above confirmation.

Indeed, I wonder if it isn't the unique setup of dj's that making it so that he doesn't see any crosstalk issues, whatsoever.

And as you'd proposed above, I do have my ZR3 heads "taped" in just that manner, in hopes of eliminating such cross-talk issues.

What I really need to do is to quantitatively test my setup - both to experiment a bit, as well as to optimize the setup and make sure that there aren't any holes that I can avoid having!

These posts and your comments really have me thinking. I installed my modified ZR4 heads directly atop my existing factory ZR4 heads which are a part of my 9500ci. Runs with both units enabled resulted in poorer performance compared to the runs with either just the factory ZR4 heads enabled or with just the modified ZR4 heads enabled. I had never thought about cross-talk issues. Yet now the results with both sets of ZR4 heads enabled makes a lot of sense. They obviously were "talking" to each other.

This brings up another issue. Some people recess their heads for a more stealthy looking install. It occurs to me that some mild feedback could occur with this type of install. Hmm...why not apply Veil to all of the sides (except the front, of course) of the jammer heads? This might reduce internal cross-talk between the IR receivers and the IR emitters. Just a thought...

I disagree with the use of Veil for this application. The object is to eliminate crosstalk, not reduce it. This needs to be accomplished by using something with zero translucency, not less translucency.

I agree with you. I was merely thinking of using Veil to reduce internal crosstalk between the IR emitters and receivers within jammer heads themselves. And obviously then you might want to apply some form of tape with zero transparency in order to reduce the possibility of crosstalk between one jammer head and another. I dunno -- just trying to think outside of the box.

Hi guys. I found this forum while searching for info. I'm giving up on my old *** Jammer and in the market for a new one to own and recommend to my customers.

I'd really like to get in on the next round of tests you conduct as I'm local to Atlanta, and my shop is in Suwanee.

I'd really like to check out all the references/links in this thread so gotta go post whore around for a bit.

I also want to just say thanks. Really great stuff here, and I'm looking forward to contributing.
