    Default Cheap Laser test

Besides getting an expensive Radar Gun for or using a remote in closeup.
Is there anything out there can get test Jammers from a distance, for a reasonable price (ie $100).
    An infrared laser pointer perhaps?

I want to install my Blinders behind the grill and want to test the performance hit, as as apposed of mounting on the outside.

it's best to find someone who owns a gun to test it for you.

I agree with ivva - you should use a gun. You won't know if you're jamming without one.

One your last part; most people here would agree that you should mount your jammers outside the grill.

Save the 100 dollars, and mount them outside the grille? What car are you doing this on?

I think there was a thread about a relatively cheap Ebay laser tester. I think it fired 100,125, and 200 PPS. The only problem with testers like that is that they use LEDs. I would think that an unfocused LED beam would spread out a lot more than the tightly focused diode beam from a gun. Basically, just because the jammer is set off by the tester doesn't necesarily mean it will even detect a real gun.

Detecting the gun is half the "fun." Being able to jam it is the other half. Just because the jammer is able to detect a laser gun from behind the grille doesn't mean it can jam it, most likely because the grille will block some/all of the "jamming" signal.

In short, it's recommended to not install behind the grille. Do so at your own risk.

Laser pointers don't work on jammers.

Jammers don't work behind the grille.

Remote testers only tell you if the system is firing. It tells you nothing about how effectively it is working. Save your money. You're going to need to get with someone with a lidar gun.

Everything Stealth said times 2. Wasting your time and money to install jammed heads behind the grille. Stealth the ride not the install.

Look in the social groups here and find members close to where you live and see if any have lidar guns. If they do I am sure they will assist in testing. If not get some together and chip in to rent a couple. Then spend a day testing each others setup.

We do this in our Georgia Testing Group, great way to find out how your system works, meet new friends and to put faces with the names you see on the forum.

    2007 Mustang.
it has a money comb grill, i could fit about 3 finger in the wholes.
So as far as obstruction, there shouldn't be that much.
And my main concern it to have it as invisble as possible for LEOs eyes.
Most installs i've seen, are very visible even why driving by.
Im sure coppers know what these are. Well maybe not most, but quite a bit im sure.

Im actualy going to install thefull M45 Blinders on the front and the Z4s from my 9500ci. So i figure it should more then make up for the slightly blocked view.
