    Default Horrible setup ughh...

I was pretty unhappy today with my laser countermeasures. i have veil and alot of it! everywhere on my car, and zr4s. and my friend tested it today with his lti ultralyte and got instant readings from about 300 or less feet every time! It looked like I didnt even have jammers on my car... on top of that the "authorized dealer" didnt properly install the zr4 heads correctly, they were recessed...ugh...

That's about right. The ZR4s lack power, so they struggle on point blank shots against the Ultralyte. That being said, that will almost assuredly be good enough to save you from a ticket, which really is the goal anyhow.

Yea, we tested his setup. Was real curious how a CI performed (namely in the radar department.) We have some video, but only of the radar. Didn't think getting instant PTs was worth taping.

I was surprised. Pretty much everything plastic (as in head/tail lights) or chrome was Veiled. With the amount of Veil on that thing and the lack of a plate, I was expecting JTG. Don't know if it makes a big difference, but the "course" was actually >400 ft.

Short course. I ideally like 7-800feet minum cause thats the shortest targeting distance I have ever encountered

Even with the bad installation and VEIL is did ticket saving performance for all encounters shot at 1000ft.

I would unrecess the heads for the time being though

I've tested another member's car. The car tested was a compact sedan equipped with LI and a ZR4. He turned off the LI, had no veil at all.

    Gun tested: LTi UL.

Result: PT, 21 MPH @ 150 ft from the rear, 27 MPH @ 307 ft on the front.

    Turn up the LI, JTG.

If it makes you feel any better, that gun seems to be the hardest gun to jam for my ZR3's and my ZR4.

All my setups (2 ZR3's and 1 ZR4) do better aginst the Stalker, than that thing.

Also, my ZR4 did much better after I got them pointing straight ahead. The first time I tested, they were angled out very little, but it hurt performance.

If the ZR4 heads are recessed at all, then they will perform terribly. ILikeRadarIMO, can you post pictures of the current install?

Sounds to me like a textbook case of a poorly done install that great results were expected from. Defiantly bring the heads out and make sure they are properly alligned. Even though the ZR4's lack power as was stated above - you should still be getting better performance than that due to veil on the vehicle.

    Keep us posted.

A photo of the current setup would be nice.

Or at least a description of the car so we know what we're talking about. 300 feet on a white Impala with ZR4s would be pretty impressive. 300 feet on a black Honda with ZR4s would be fail.
