Default Ultimate Stealth Laser Jammer (3 section design)

First Laser Jammer manufacturer to offer a true "hidden" Laser Jammer (that jams effectively) will be #1.

Cutting grilles and exposing "heads" is a "no, no" in areas where RD's are illegal. Also US states where anti-LaserJammer laws are extant or contemplated.

The 2-section design (head/s and CPU-Interface) is not the "ultimate" format.

    We need a 3-section design:-

(1.) Tiny head/s (waterproof) with 1 x receiver infrared LED and 1 x jammer~laser-diode. Would have minimal amplifier circuitry inside waterproof housing. Size - no more than 1/2 inch square (or round equivalent).

(2.) Small CPU Box (waterproof) for processing (fits inside engine bay) with 2 - 3 feet cable connection to heads. Long cable connection to interior.

(3.) Junction box (with rest of the brains) inside the car. Switches etc connect to this "interface".

Surely this aint (sic) rocket science?

I don't see an issue with the CPU box being inside the cabin.

How about disguising the heads as deer whistles?

    Because that's embarrassing.

The detection LED and Jamming Diode need to have an amp (and associated circuitry) very close to them.

The next stage (main works of the device) needs to be relatively close (just a few feet) to the heads.

Only the switching, alert and display section needs to be inside the cabin.

I'm surprised this post was not taken more seriously.

If a 2-section design could permit "tiny" heads to be semi-concealed (and the rest at the end of a 12 foot cable inside the cabin), why hasn't a jammer maker done it?

Go driving with your "big heads" in states where "laser jammers" are banned (JTG the operator or shut down too slowly) and see how funny the current "compromised" designs are.

Or curb feelers. That should stop headlight PTs.

I posted a similar idea a few weeks ago, what I called a modular jammer head. Basically, instead of the head being a single unit, it would be a box under the hood that multiple LED/sensor assemblies could be plugged in to. Those assemblies would be very compact and can be placed in places a normal jammer head won't fit. This not only benefits stealth, but it allows traditional PT spots to be covered, such as headlights and windshield.

Each diode assembly would contain a LED, a sensor, and a small amplifier/LED driver, which would plug into a box under the hood that synchronizes and sends the signals to the head assemblies.

With a sensor in each unit, off-center laser hits (and scatter) can be detected more readily as well.

If the LEDs/sensor diodes are "bare" they could be hidden amongst LED driving lights as well.

Excellent idea in advance of my thoughts . Great minds think -----

How about disguising the heads as ordinary aftermarket parking sensors?

A co-worker of mine has a black box mounted on the rear license plate of her minivan which looks very similar to a LIDAR jammer head. On top of the box is a large decal that says "Smart Park 2000" or something like that. I'm thinking of making a similar decal and putting it on top of my ZR4 jammer heads. "See, officer? Nothing here but us parking sensors!"
