Default Placement and decisions - 02 Audi A4

I am looking to buy a laser jammer. Here is my situation..

Okay so I have a 2002 audi s4 and I recently bought a cheetah c100, V1, Veil and laser shields. I am also going to take all of the chrome out of my headlights, blacking out the audi symbol, tinting the tail lights, and removing my front license plate. Hope to have a pretty stealth car when i'm done

the headlight thing is here: :: a4mods.com :: - The Premiere Audi A4 Modification Guide and Pictures Library

    Well here is my dilemma...

Front: I cant put the laser jammer heads in the upper grill (blue) because it lifts up with the hood and it gets so hot!!!! So I think my next best place would be in the lower grill (Red) I know some people advise against this but I'm fine with it sticking out a half inch or so. would this even help? I read of another audi on here similar to mine getting jtg's with the lower grill (red) setup and a blinder m-27.

Rear: This is the bad.... There is nowhere good to place laser jammers on the rear of this car!!! There is a small lip above the license plate and it sticks out about an inch.... this is the rear blue...How big are the heads? is that too close together? I was also pondering an attachment to the rear bumper of some sort.. (Red) But I am NOT willing to drill into anything... is there any sort of super sticky mount I could use? I also thought about under the bumper but that seems just too far away and not worth the money... plus the exhaust is in the way on the left side.

And finally I havent fully decided on a laser jammer set up.. The only two I am considering are the LI and Blider. I am only going to do rear heads if it will be worth it...(I really want it to be worth it please help!!!) Any suggestions are welcome! I want the best performer!!

Edit: LI's are sooo expensive!!! do you guys think an ebay one would be good or is that too risky? If so I think an m27 or m37 is mt only choice...

    That headlight mod is awesome.

Will an M27 in the lower positions protect that car, all blacked out? More than likely, it will do very well. But I disagree that you cannot put it in the grille. It's been done, and so long as it is solidly mounted, it's not a problem. That is a MUCH better option with a lot more peace of mind. Just don't be slamming you hood like a gorilla.

On the rear, you're not going to fit Blinder heads in there. And under the bumper would be a total waste of heads. I don't know how prevalent the rear-laser threat is in WA, but anywhere that laser is used, it is a threat. The only hope you have on your rear end is an LI above the plates and some Veil on the tail lights.

You will regret buying an LI from anywhere except the distributor. And no sympathy on the price thing. Jammers are a luxury, not a right. You gotta pay to play. Speeding is not for the meek.

Good luck! That's going to look nice!

hmm i would love to mount them in the upper grill.. but what temps are these rated to?? All I can say is it gets Hot in there!!! check out my third picture in the original post. I have no idea how I would mount this thing since every time I lifted the hood it would have to be taken off or something. the jammers cant be behind the grill correct? they have to be sticking through I'm pretty sure.

I don't understand what you're saying. Why would anything have to be taken off or moved? The heads move with the grille. Unless you're driving with your hood open, why would that be a problem?

It's going to take some talent with a Dremel tool, and a little ingenuity to figure out how to best secure them. That's why I'm not an installer, lol. But plenty of people here manage it, so any professional installer worth the title should be able to do it.

    Sweet ride.

One thing - although you're removing the chrome, and although that *should* at least *somewhat* reduce your vehicle's LIDAR signature in those specific areas, don't count on it.

Remember that there's a set of reflectors buried beyond your projector lenses, and that those lenses, themselves, present as optical collimators:

I'm glad that you'll be VEIL'ing those headlamps - but don't count on the de-chroming for anything more than an aesthetic modification.

Is there any way to remove the second set of reflectors?

I honestly don't know what that would do to your lighting pattern.....
