Question Laser Jamming... Ideal location to mount heads on a Bike...? view attached images...

    Hello,

I have decided to opt for the combination of an M27 Blinder Laser jammer, combined with a Beltronics STi Driver.

I have attached a few photos of places where i could mount the laser jamming heads...

As it is a bike, i am thinking i dont really need to mount both units facing forward as the bikes physical size is much smaller then that of a cars size...

So would it be posssible to mount a head facing forwards, and the second head facing backwards?

I have performed a few measurements at the front of the bike from the top of the front mudgaurd, to the bottom of the front cowling (bottom lip of the air intake) and when the suspension is fully compressed during hard braking the distance between these two points is virtually nil.
So if i am going to mount the jammer head under the front cowling it will have to be under the steering yoke, which is the plate joining the top of each front shock abosrbers (view picture looking up the steering assembly)

Measurements inside the actual air intake are a maximum width of 70mm, and i am sure the blinder head is wider then 70mm.
Also i would prefer to avoid putting any obstructions into the air intake.

The STi radar detector will be mounted using a stem mount on my handle bars looking through the front wind shield.

So... if anyone can see any good places to mount the laser jamming head in a forward facing direction i would like to hear from you soon...

    Cheers

One front and one rear should work just fine.

Best location would be vertically in the air intake. It'd fit there, and not restrict your air flow. I can't quite picture what you're talking about, regarding the steering yoke. I don't know biker lingo. But if it would fit horizontally directly under the air intake, that would be the second best position.

Make sure it is mounted vertical as SS said...We have done a lot of testing and a vertical mount on a Bike is 2x more effective than horizontal.

You can mount it to the pebble guard under the headlight, just make sure you have clearance for your front forks to compress or you'll damage the head/tiire cover if your forks bottom out and hit.

Here's how my busa had it installed.

    Hope this helps!
