Jammer question - car swapping

I'd love to get fitted with a LJ. However, this coming summer I plan on a new vehicle. So the question is, how much of a hassle is it to pull gear from one car and install to another? Perhaps just wait till summer to get a LJ kit on the new vehicle? (Which is where I am leaning)

No matter the provider of the LJ or the car there will be a reasonable amount of installation hassle involved. Cheetah sells a wireless installation kit that will limit the effort and holes you will have to make in the vehicle. It works only with BLINDER

It is not a big deal either way if you take your time. To mount it correctly and securely you will be drilling holes for the heads. You will need to find a passage through the firewall if you choose not to use the wireless kit.

Get your LJ system now and use caution when installing. Your early purchase is insurance.

Once you have it installed, it's a lot easier to remove. You've learned all the tricks after the first time.

I would get it now, why drive unprotected for 6 months.

The second install will be a snap. Nothing beats experience.

I suggest using 3m mounting tape for the first install, and zip-ties. Keep it as "non-permament" as possible and this should help removing them later.

Took me 3 hours to install the rx75 plus in my 2005 accord and 1 hour to remove the rx75 and swap it with the LI system. Oh, another 10 minutes to hard wire the V1. It's no big deal to swap once you do it a few times. Go spoil yourself with a jammer.

X2!!! Practice makes perfect. It took me 6 hours to install my in dash nav unit the first time. I took it out an reinstalled the old unit in an hour when I had to send it in for service.

No time like the present to jump in the deep end. If you mess up something do it on the old car, not the new one!!!

I just did this two weeks ago. Much easier to take the jammers off the car. I took my STI-R and Blinders off my car in 1.5 hours and that was just because I had put so many BLACK tie wraps in on the first install I had to go back and take them off. The majority were under the car and I was uninstalling at 10:00PM to get my car ready to trade in to the dealer the next afternoon and the 1million and 2million candlelight flashlights were dead so I had to use a hand held flashlight. To put everything on the new car it took 2.5 hours. It is very easy to install the second time because you know exactly what you are doing.
