I don't think CCC was suggesting that you were intentionally doing anything wrong. More along the lines of advising you to not make any assumptions about whether your jammer is working, or how well it is working simply because you survive a LEO encounter without a ticket. That's why he listed all those reasons why you should not use those results -- even though unintentional -- as reassurance about your system. And he's correct.

I just happened to run across some while driving, I was more than due for it.

I dont think I was the target here or even could have been, first I'd have been hard to target due to surrounding cars, secondly I've been targeted before and it usually triggers more than a single set of three tones on the V1.

I'm more than welcome to try it in a controlled environment if there is a local testing.

I'm also not really testing against the LEOs because I'm never exceeding the speed limit where their traps are, they always hide in the same spots, so I'm not intentionally trying to speed past them just to see if I can jam them. If I were targeted more than the usual alerts I usually get with the V1 I'd hit the kill switch just to be safe. I'm not trying to do anythig stupid with it. Even if it could jam to gun I'm not going to do runs past of officers just to do so.

The other thing is aside from Thruway traps the locals down here have an old LTI 20/20 which would be the laser I'll more likely enouncter regularly and I'd be more curious to know how this thing performs against.

My apologies if you have taken my post other than as it was intended.

My post was meant to point out salient facts about the pointlessness of what you are doing. I was not implying that what you were doing was illegal or dangerous for your licence. Merely that it was a waste of your time as it provides no useful data at all.

It provides absolutely no data about your jammer, other than it alerts at some point to a lidar gun.

For instance, let's look at your potential encounter..

    - Your jammer alerted, but at what point? Reception of a lidar threat is vital. Your jammer may only have alerted long after the 0.3s needed for any lidar gun to get your speed so all it would be doing is acting as a laser detector.

    - If it did jam as soon as you were lit up by the LEO, how much time would you have before punchthrough? 0.5s, 1s, 5s?

    - If it did jam, how obvious will it be to an LEO?

My reason for pressing you to do some private testing is simple. You are better with no jammer, than a jammer you have a false confidence in.

The only way you can gauge a product's performance in any walk of life is in a controlled environment as it allows you to limit the unknowns and monitor all important variables.

This is the gold standard for assessing a jammer's performance and it allows you to compare it with its peers.

So ask around this forum and I am sure somebody will be happy to help.
