Taking my earlier numbers further... let's now calculate how many encounters an average metropolitan traffic LEO would see in a month.
Assume he is actively shooting LIDAR for 2 hours of each shift. The rest of the is spent making the traffic stops, running plates, warrants, writing the tickets, re-positioning himself back in the line of fire. Then there's traffic accidents, stalled vehicles, backups for other LEOs, papework at the office, appearing in court, the usual fare. The other chunk of time is when the traffic commute is on, and everyone is forced to drive 40 mph. This does not include bad weather in winter when catching a speeder is much reduced from rain and snow.
Let's assume he shoots 10 potential speeders per minute, or 6 seconds per car. That means he potentially shoots 1200 cars per shift. (Wow, I'd hate to do that every day). In 4 weeks he would of shot at roughly 24,000 cars. So in a month, he would have been exposed to 1 jammer.
