Although I haven't done any tests on HIDs alone, they did seem to make a difference in the performance of a jammer. I tested a black Acura TL with a blinder M25 and was able to get an 800+ft punchthrough on the headlight with my Laser Atlanta but when the driver's 6000k HID headlights were on it was JTG.
If you call being able to get a reading at 4000' on a C6 Corvette without HID's on and getting one at 3000' with HID's on delaying then yes it does. Will it help you, NO!!
Very few if any officers target you at 4000', most encounters occur within 1000' or less, equating to instant readings 95% of the time.

Just a hunch but I'll bet that HIDs make a car more stealthy by design. You don't need a great big reflective surface for them to work. Plus they seem to have dark matte material around them.
I'll bet it has little to do with light output or anything.

If you say so then I believe it. Just hard to understand how they can intefere with IR beams. Do HIDs emit into IR?
Maybe when they're lit the interior of the bulb becomes cloudy or something and helps prevent reflections. Kind of like an electric VEIL cloud... or something...
Does that make any d@mned sense![]()
