Locating jammer heads for optimal rear end protection

Hey,
Have any of you successfully jammed LIDAR shots to the rear of your car? Which jammers do you reccomend, and how were the heads positioned?

The rear of most cars presents problems
retro reflective tail lights,
a central license platw slot.
virtually no place to position and conceal the heads?

It all depends on the car. Each model has it's own compromises. Placement is different in each car. Show us your car and you will get opinions.

What worked for me was to mount my jammer heads on both sides of my license plate at the top. They are on an aluminum bar with holes drilled for the license plate mounting screws and also for the jammer heads. This setup also includes a laser shield license plate cover and Veil G4 on the tail lights.

There is no stealth in this install, and I am surprised it tested as well as it did. No real world encounters yet from the rear, but if it did well in testing it should do well in a real encounter as well.

I have also been thinking that one could possibly hide the heads and maybe even get a better position by disguising them with a bike rack. It would of course look like hell, but so do the heads sticking out in plain view.

Good job by Switch626 there! The plate is nice and high on that car, with decent wide spread too. Most cars don't offer options that good, which is what leaves you screwed. But yeah, you gotta almost just forget the word "stealth" when doing a rear end, otherwise you are pretty much wasting your time and money.

Hey thanks for the pic. Yeah on the celica, the license plate pretty much sits inline with the tailights, a feature most cars dfont share. On the nissan silvia picture i posted, where would you locate them?

I guesss your jammer heads ae protruding out either side of the license plate? or are they just tucked in under the cowl for the license plate lights?

Would you be comfortable driving this setup in states where jammers are illegal? or just go without rear end protection?

If you are uncomfortable speeding in states where speeding is illegal, then go without protection. But if you still speed anyhow, then you would be crazy to forego protection.

Well, I was originally hopeing that they would tuck in nicely under the lip (and be camoflauged). It did not work out that way at all. They stick out very prominantly, and are now a defining feature on the rear of my car. Still, the wide area around the plate did make mounting very simple. What I don't like about it is that I always have to check thet nobodoy decided to lean on my jammer heads and knock them out of alignment.

If jammers were illegal here, I would not be OK with this setup. Unfortunately, the rear mounting options for most cars are very bad for stealth installs. I would probably go without rear protection until my next car (which would be chosen on a basis of mounting options). If I didn't have that big, stupid spoiler on the back, I would go with the smaller heads of an LI and consider hiding them in an accessory. Maybe a bike rack or luggage rack or something.

I think that would all depend on how much you get caught. If you get a 100 dollar ticket every time you get in your car because of your jammer, the cost will grow very rapidly. Of course, if you get lasered from the rear a lot less, but get a major speeding ticket each time it happens, that's going to add up too (but maybe a little slower).

If lawyers don't cost too much where you live and are effective at knocking down speeding tickets, it might be better to go without. Keep your lawyers number handy though, you would need it!
