They are a couple of power tripping motocops from Irving who feel as if they are the law(as all motocops do) and were witnesses to HB1116 and SB1376(the two jammer bills). These two fags have been testifying for the bills and blatantly lying at the meetings. Mark Vincent went so far as to say that jammers can interfere with a police laser gun from over 3 miles away and prevent speed readings on vehicles around the jammer equipped car. Of course every politician is an idiot and believed them. I am willing to bet that one of these two fags pulled over your friend. They are pathetic.
Ive been reading all the posts from my phone. I can't believe this ****. I'm guessing there's nothing I can do if it goes to court. Thankfully I don't drive in Irvine. Over 3 miles my ass! I really hope this bull doesn't start catching on in other cities. I'm going to talk to my friend later today, I'm curious to find out whether it was one of them two. This is pathetic, typical politics. I'm guessing they're members of this forum so if you like you can PM me with info. Too bad there's no way to tell who is actually helping them on this forum from who is just another member.
Does anyone know what videos radarrob is talking about? Or what one of the previous forum members meant when he said thank outrun about this? Also, any suggestions as to what to do when you're in this situation?
Wow, I was having a good day until I read this. After getting my blood pressure down a bit, I'll explain this to you.
If your interested in what happened to me, send me a PM like the others have advised. I'm not gonna post it in public forum.
They have a hard on for jammers to start. As Colby described, they went to the the meeting, presented an inaccurate, exaggerated tirade about jammers to put the new law into effect. They succeeded, in getting a unanimous vote while lying to the board members.
But how many of the politicians are gonna dispute the range of a jammer especially when the cop embellishes his proposal with jargon such as "emitting pulsing diodes?"
I wouldn't be so naive in thinking it won't happen to you. Either stealth the install or don't get them, because cops will notice them, esp. the power hungry ones with this new TX law going into effect. I never thought anyone would notice mine except for enthusiasts but I was wrong.
For the fifth time, PM me for more info on this whole situation.
I also have several thoughts on some of the info you'll commonly see here.
To start, the concept of JTG is great. I love performance as much as anyone, but it's impractical for some cases, especially mine. For me, I honestly believe the risk of being harassed would be greatly reduced with a slightly recessed install. It'd still prevent most tickets too.
Some on the board do not understand this. Sh*t, I would have gotten a HP LI and hidden it better. The cost would have been the less considering the ticket pricing.
Another thing I recommend is look for stories like these
before getting a LI. The US map where there legal is deceptive; cities have penal codes against them such as Irving. The manufactures fail to mention this. Whenever anyone comes on looking for jammers, people think LI + JTG. That's ideal; the perfect setup! I was thrilled to have mine that way and several enthusiasts and I invested lots of time and effort testing and perfecting it.
However, no matter how perfect the setup is, it's still subject to harassment but a power hungry LEO. And subject to the aforementioned ticket.
My point is consider your cops, cities, driving environment, verified stories and backdoor laws before jumping into the ideal LI + JTG setup, because there are a few places (i.e.f**king irving) where it's detrimental and expensive.
More work needs to be directed to stealthy installs
and performance.
I'll look for the video if I can find it. Before my time on RD.net, Outrun and a dude with a focus JTG'd a cop several times and got stopped for it. Inconsiderate and not smart at all. (i.e. trying to make a few sales on jammers, while making them illegal in the long run)
