Exclamation Jammers class b misdemeanor? Texas Federal Law violation?

Hey guys, I was wondering if someone on here could help me out. I have a friend of mine that I hadn't spoken to in a while tell me about what happened to him about a month ago when he asked me how my jammers (LI) were holding up and whether I had had any run ins with cops because of them.
Here is the situation, he got pulled over for speeding because he didn't notice a cop get behind him, which he thinks had his radar gun off until he had a clear line of sight to get his speed with ka band. Not that it matters but he has either an escort or passport detector and LR4 jammers (2 on front and 2 on back). When he was pulled over the cop noticed the jammers on the back of his car and apparently knew what they were. When he saw the jammers he pointed and said, "is that a jammer? " to which my friend answered yes. He then said" we typically seize those and its a class b misdemeanor" My friend apparently told him he wouldn't intentionally drive around with something that was illegal and keeps pretty informed about laser jammers and asked him if this was something new. The cop then told him no, that is not a new law. Its interfering with police work and thats why the citation is for a class b misdemeanor. He asked the cop if he wouldn't mind allowing him to have them professionally removed since they were wired to his electrical system and didn't want to risk anything happening to his vehicle. The reason why I'm posting this is because I'm the one that highly recommended laser jammers and I had done some research into this and had found that in texas they were legal.
The police officer is a police officer in Irvine, Texas. My friend was actually given a warning and didn't get a ticket for the jammers or the speeding. I was wondering if anyone has been through a similar experience or has even gone to court for this. I am currently considering buying the switch for parking sensors so that I can demonstrate that I use it as parking sensors on my car since the laser interceptor does that, unfortunately for him the LR4s don't do that. Anyone have any suggestions on this or information that they can share?

Thank you guys in advance, I hope that this info ends up helping others out there that may have had or end up having similar encounters. Thanks again.

Ok, I just wanted to put this up since my buddy that actually went through it doesn't have an account on here. I just sent him the link so that he can periodically check in to see the responses. Also, I don't know who weeth is. My main thing is that I want to know what I can do in case this actually happens to me

Radarrob: I honestly don't know anything about class b misdemeanor and I do know that radar jammers are illegal in texas and had read that laser jammers are not. I'm just trying to figure out whether the police officer that told him that was merely test, although my friend said it wasn't testing, he was being dead serious. I honestly cant say because I wasn't there. As for whether he needs to do anything about it, I know he doesn't since he didn't even get a ticket, although I didn't ask him if he got a paper warning vs verbal warning.

In Texas, police are well informed of jammers, at least partially because of the actions of our forum members. Since there is no Texas law specifically prohibiting the use of laser jammers, this is how police have chosen to deal with them. A good lawyer should have no problem beating this in court, but it is obviously a huge PITA to have to deal with in the meantime.

Yes, they are writing interfering with the duties of a police officer and according to the pathetic excuses for cops named Mark Vincent and Jeff Parsons, they have been successfully convicting. They are a couple of power tripping motocops from Irving who feel as if they are the law(as all motocops do) and were witnesses to HB1116 and SB1376(the two jammer bills). These two fags have been testifying for the bills and blatantly lying at the meetings. Mark Vincent went so far as to say that jammers can interfere with a police laser gun from over 3 miles away and prevent speed readings on vehicles around the jammer equipped car. Of course every politician is an idiot and believed them. I am willing to bet that one of these two fags pulled over your friend. They are pathetic.
Ive been reading all the posts from my phone. I can't believe this ****. I'm guessing there's nothing I can do if it goes to court. Thankfully I don't drive in Irvine. Over 3 miles my ass! I really hope this bull doesn't start catching on in other cities. I'm going to talk to my friend later today, I'm curious to find out whether it was one of them two. This is pathetic, typical politics. I'm guessing they're members of this forum so if you like you can PM me with info. Too bad there's no way to tell who is actually helping them on this forum from who is just another member.

Does anyone know what videos radarrob is talking about? Or what one of the previous forum members meant when he said thank outrun about this? Also, any suggestions as to what to do when you're in this situation?
