Maple, when you mounted the rear head how did you route the wire into the trunk?
I had the same problem with my rear shifter blocking my license plate light. This is how I solved that problem. I removed the bulb from the normal license plate light. I replaced my normal license plate bolts with ones that have LED lights inside them that point down towards the license plate to illuminate the plate and wired them to the same power wupply as the normal license plate light. I then got pulled over because they were not the right color. The LEO said they were blue, but they were really bright white, which kind of looks blue, kind of like HID headlights, which are bright white, but also look kind of blue. So, I then painted them with a thin coat of yellow paint that I got from a hobby shop. Now they look almost normal and I have had no problems since.
DJ, can you post a close pic of the rear head with the illuminated bolts and possibly let us know where you found them? I may run into the same problem.
Thanks.
I was thinking for appications where it might block the light, to mount the head on the lower holes of the plate instead, might not look as good but at least it will not block the lighting.
Thank you for the pics. I'll keep an eye out. Looking to order the RD as soon as a few more post up their opinions/likes/dislikes.
I could sworn I have seen those lighted bolts somewhere, maybe in the accessories section of a parts store.
