I'm going to say they are good (as good as you can get) where they are.

Police try to stay away from dash-mount detectors on the target car. For this reason, they are experts at nailing you so low on the front of your car that your radar detector never makes a peep.

Sure, you will get punch-through on headlight shots but you will get them anyway with the ZR3.

By "selling out" and protecting the spot cops shoot, you can get very low PT's or JTG on most guns with center mass shots. (headlight shots will have high PT's though.)

If you move to protect your lights, you can reduce (but not eliminate) PT distances on the headlights. But the more common center-mass shots will have PT's I consider to be too high. (I am thinking in the 300-600ft range)

I ran a ZR3 on my 2003 Altima and was saved many times.

But yea, I agree with the rest, you'll probably want to move those heads up. Front heads closer to the headlights, and the rear head up, closer to center mass.
