How do you know which side of the Zr4 head is the receive side...They both look alike and both say this side up..How do you know which is left and which is right for receive purposes?

Internally, both front ZR4 heads are identical. Looking at the heads from the front, the left side is the receive portion and the rest is the emitter portion. You can hold the heads up to a desk lamp such that the lamp is shining into the tops of the heads, and then you should be able to see the shielded receive side and to the right of that the row of eight IR emitting LEDs.
P.S. On my modified ZR4's you won't be able to easily see the receive side since the RF shield over the receive electronics now is black rather than bare metal.
That puts receive side both on the left and the heads are marked this side up...Is it ok to flip the Z head one upside down to make the receivers to the right for the right headlight
Prefer that you didn't since the circuit board shields the emitter LEDs from shining down onto the pavement directly in front of the vehicle. Flipping the head may cause the pavement to be illuminated, creating feedback into the receive.
I am not going to start a business modifying ZR4's.
